Native America Mod

Thanks for the comments Vasili and Gogf. Positive praise only spurs us on to do more!!

Vasili - I put in Sween32's Atahualpa for the Tupi leader. It was a great leaderhead that sadly became a little redundant due to the Conquests expansion having an Incan leaderhead in it. It was a case of "give a leaderhead a home!!" A preview can be seen in post 41 of this thread, at the top of page 3.

Gee whiz... Theres nothing I like more than being frigging ignored...

This mod is not ready for prime time consumption. 2 of the latest bugs:

Error reading file - missing entry in "conquests\native american\pediaicon.txt": WON_SPLASH_BLDG_MASS_TRANSIT_SYSTEM

exit game now

And:

file not found - art\files\SB_01.FLC

exit game now

No Diplomacy available, no automated notification when new government has been researched. when playing on a small map with full compliment of tribes, 3-4 settlers will be started right next to each other. some missing sound files or not associated sound files.

First of all, please mind your language - foul language is not tolerated on this forum.

I can appreciate your concerns about the game crashing and thanks for the heads up on the errors you've found. However, they are corrected by uploading the Inuit patch available in post #210 in this thread. I'll also edit my post on the front page of this thread to give the link to this thread as well. All you need to do is download it, unzip it and copy the files across into the corresponding files that you've downloaded, overwriting them. The patch download is 1.2meg.

Sorry about those errors, but when one person playtests, it's not always possible to find every problem. On Civfanatics, we tend to upload once we think its ok, knowing that any errors can be quickly resolved. As for there being civilopedia entries missing etc, read the thread; four people in different parts of the world are contributing to this mod, and are updating details as we speak. Please keep checking back for updates.

Here is another link to the Inuit patch:

Thanks for the update. The concept for this mod is an excellent one.

However, unless the developer is creating the game solely for the enjoyment of his or her self or for a small group of people, updates, as the first post states, should be posted on the first page. I asked a couple of questions in my first post and no one bothered to even give me a reply. I was annoyed. Anyone would be. If you post a mod in a public forum you should at least post install instructions for us new recruits, yeah?

Dont read anything into the tone of this post other than me trying to be informative. Not all of us know what we are doing and any help the developers can give us should be given if the mod is for joe public.

P.S. - "frigging" is a perfectly acceptable adjective to use in public vs. the more vulgar replacement word...

Cheers. :p

No need for me to add the Inuits. Since you've already done. Cool leaderhead modification. But, thats not the updated version from Sword_of_Geddon.?

Another question: Chichen Itza - says it puts a granery in every city (ala the pyramids), doesnt work. Is this intentional?

Yes. It's one of Unexisted's original wonders which reduces war weariness.

Let's allow Padma/Chieftess/Moonsinger be the judge of that.

No - still waiting for Sword_of_Geddon's update. That won't include the Inuit, as he had done loads of updating before I posted the Inuits and he doesn't know how to add them. Which is why I thought you could if you're next with the update ;) .

RF: I focused on updating the tech tree and the units in the game, plus the civilipedia entries for all the units in the game, not missing a single one. Unfortunately the Civilpedia entries for the civs wasn't updated.

When guys update it, you may want to list each tribe's flavor(Like Horseman, C.Scouts, or Llama Riders) units and UUs(like Inti Warriors) like they do in the normal game. That way, people know what tribe gets what.

Thanks Unexisted, for letting me percipipate in this great mod.
The long process of Uploading it has begun, by tommarow, the new version should be up and ready!

Thank you for participating in this mod. I'll update my material and then lend the .biq to Mobilize so he can place the starting locations.

Mobilize, start paying attention to this thread

Theres only one more thing, other than technical stuff(adding the Inuit, correct starting locations etc.) that I can think of to add:

More Wonders!

Theres a few new ones I wanted to add, but lacked the knowledge too:

1.Temple of Tikal
2. Garland Wars
3. The Ghost Dance
4. Statue of Crazy Horse(A new united states monument being built as we speak)
5. El Dorado, the Legendary City of Gold

And heres what I was going to have each Wonder do:

Temple of Tikal: Puts a temple in all cities
Garland Wars: Puts a barracks in all cities ala Art of War
The Ghost Dance: Produces "Ghost Dancer" unit every five-ten turns
Statue of Crazy Horse: Halves unit upgrade costs
El-Dorado: Same effect that "Wall Street" has in the main game

I made a Legend of El-Dorado wonder. So did you rename it? I'll commence putting together some Splashes for these wonders :D

Was that fast? :D

Sorry.. I'm back now.. I am really tired.. all weekend I've been smoking the peacepipe for my dad's birthday so I'm out of it.

Send me the darn .biq so I can fix it. I looked at civilization tab in the one you sent me earlier and the Cherokee section is really screwed up.. a horrible city list, crappy leaders.. same with some other civs.. I'll fix it right away with the power of my red skin.. har har! Red power..

Just upload the .biq by itself S_o_G.. it doesn't take that long for that.

BTW, um.. how do you make a screenshot? (I forgot..) I am planning on creating a preview thread for my Irish Civil War scenario.

Upload the picture (by clicking upload at the bottom of the screen when you type your message), then click on IMG under the vB Code part of the message. In the box that comes up, you need to type in the pathway exactly, ie it's case sensitive. You'll type something like http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads6/MyPicture.jpg

Sword_of_Geddon - what can I say? Fabulous work by the sounds of it and I love the ideas you had for world wonders, particularly the Crazy Horse one.

Unexisted - great splashes as per usual. Which wonders were you thinking of using them for?
