The effects of Nature have not featured in any Civilization scenario or game. Yet history shows that the effect of nature played a major role in the outcome of many conflicts, especially in the hot jungle environment of SE Asia.
I added this feature to add a new dimension to my PTW and C3C scenario 'Defeat Into Victory 2'.

Should you wish to add this element to your game, you would have to create a 'civilization' called Nature before adding these units.

Nature - This is a static defence unit for nature's strongholds.

Malaria - The scourge of the tropics.

Monsoon - SE Asia's annual torrential downpour.

Typhoon - The Pacific equivalent of the Tropical Hurricane.

Maelstrom - Giant sea whirlpool.

Iceberg - The scourge of North Atlantic shipping.

I like the typhoon. You can also give those units to the barbarians for an additional use. I plan to pre-place several of the typhoons but rename them hurricane in the pirate mod I am working on.

Great! They'll work just as well in the Caribbean.:) The Civilopedia would need amending to suit.

Nice! These are the ones I was thinking of. :)

What a "tiny" mosquito is there ^^

Somehow, I can't stick with the unit "Nature" ..... It's ....... it's ............. what is it exactly???

The typhoon looks best from them :)

Hi Rhodie!

Have first dl your units from the Database and after viewing them I must state that your "Typhoon" is my favorite nature-unit too. Really makes a great barbarian unit.

I`m testing the typhoon today in the Space-Mod I`m working on.
I plannig to use it as an "Energy Storm"-Barbarian unit that I make able to have several enslavement results (nature-units/other units).

I always used to give my barbarians more enslavement results. That way I gain much more variety for them (Civ uses 3 barbarians - with my method it`s possible that there be a dozen or so).

So... thanks for them

Unfortunately, barbarians cannot enslave :(

Hi Virote_Considon

I`really could not remember to have it seen once (in my testing-phase). But I always thought Civ use it, because its possible in the Editor. But I really never has checked that `feature` out, just have `discovered` it while working in the Editor. I will check that using debug-mode. Maybe I have to rework my mods after that. In my epic Mod Supa`s Megalodon `enslave` Supa`s Small_Shark and Large_Shark. That gives me additional work.
So thanks for the hint.

These genial units (some in older version) are available nearly as long as Civ 3 exists. Thank you Rhodie for doing them and all your other great stuff. :thanx: It seems, most civers don´t look in the scenarios and therefore don´t see the juwels that are available even for modding.

@General 666, Virote is -as (nearly?) always- right.:) Barbarians cannot enslave. You don´t need big testings in the debug-mod for it.

Thank you all for your support.

Civinator is correct that some of these nature units were created some time ago.
The ‘Nature’ and ‘Malaria’ units are from my original PTW ‘Defeat Into Victory’ scenario of 2003. Drawing created them both frame-by-frame and then photographically animated, as I did not have a modelling programme at the time.

And yes KaRei, the mosquito is large, but I felt that one large one had a better visual impact than a swarm of tiny dots. Have a look at it performing in my scenario. I have created another unit for flies that I drew for a desert and as yet unpublished scenario, but they are dots and not as menacing and I may still change them.

The original ‘monsoon’ was my hand drawn version and the original ‘typhoon’ was a converted tornado. So for the new update, I thought that I would like to re-create them using my limited modelling programme. They were very difficult as they comprise of many, many moving parts moving at different speeds and all-white-grey objects are not Civ palette friendly. Thanks to the palette suggestions on CivFanatics and on Wyrmshadow's web site, I eventually got the palette problem more-or-less corrected.

I’m very happy that some of you have found new uses for these special units.

Rhodie:
I'm planning on using some of these units in the next release
of my HOF and TOS scenarios. Are you planing to do any more
of these nature units( I could use an iceberg and a blizzard)?
There is a snow storm animation around somewhere already. I think it was used to replace the volcano eruption. You might search with that as one of the keywords.

Thanks for using some of the nature units.:)
I haven't got anything planned at the moment and I'm a bit busy helping with the CCM mod. But when I have a moment sometime, I'll try to create the 'iceberg' for you, as Blue Monkey thinks that there is a 'blizzard' unit somewhere already.
I see that you created a C3C Pacific WWII scenario a couple of years ago. Have you tried my 'Defeat Into Victory II' scenario and seen the various armoured units that I uploaded a few months ago?
