Stormrage, I'm thinking about giving my winter camo trooper a sniper rifle. Concur that we need more units of this type.

Just so everyone knows, I'm leaving tomorrow for a week long trip and will have limited computer access. So, I won't be working on any units. I'll be back though, so don't sweat it.;) (I know some of you have abandonment issues...).

For your slot #13, I'd like to place an official request for an Israeli IDF Infantryman. I have an Uzi model and pics of you need them... ;)

I think for modern type units one we are really in need of, for a wide range of use, would be an RPG-7 infantry unit. One in middle-eastern attire and one with darker skin for say africa and central/south america, no?

Preview of my Modern Bedouin posted for comments. As I said, due to some upcoming travel, it'll probably two weeks before this one is ready.

I was thinking about using a similar model to this and equipping him with an SA-7, to simulate an alternate modern anti-air capability. Maybe this could pass for a bazooka as well?

I have a good UZI prop, but don't have any plans atm to make an IDF soldier. Kinboat's version is a great match for their infantry, as the M-16 is a much more common weapon used by Israel. Maybe someday though.

List Update:
1. Female Commando Done
2. Bedouin w/ AK-47
3. Standard Russian Soldier w/ AK-47 or 74
4. US Ranger in Desert Gear w/ M-4 and Maybe Grenade Launcher
5. Generic African Soldier w/ AK-47
6. Winter Camo Soldier
7. Some kind of PLA Soldier (China)
8. Generic Arab Soldier
9. Generic Indian Soldier (need some ideas)
10. German Soldier w/ G36
11. British Soldier w/ Sa80 (If I can find one)
12. MAYBE a commando with a Gas Mask
13. Maybe something else to round out the modern infantry lines, or more likely I'll move on to some future era infantry

That is a great unit. Definitely far superior to the Civ3 guerilla.

How hard is it to learn to do units like this in poser?

Not hard. Guys like Kinboat and Utah really paved the way to creating units with Poser. Without the paperdoll and accessories and Utah's tutorial and unit setup file, I'm sure I would have never gotten going with Poser.

I would encourage anyone to give it a shot, especially if you got the free d/l. Go through the tutorial step by step and make a spearman like Utah's, only worse. Then go through it step by step and make your own unit. By your fourth or fifth, you won't hardly need it.

Learn to love the Key Frame editor in Poser. You only have to "pose" a frame here and there since Poser fills in the rest. It's a very handy program and fairly user friendly once you get used to it. Finally, ask the other Poser users here for help, I sure have. And learn to model so you can make stuff for me.;)

Stormrage, COOL model, where did you get it?

Navydawg,

Another good one. What are the blue things on his tummy? Have you experimented with two tone civ color? Maybe have the rope/roll on his head be a very dark civ color while the rag/sheet be a very light civ color.
Might work well enough to have the rest of him be in regular 'ole desert dude trim.
Not sure about the color... seems a bit off somehow.... can't put my finger on it. Also, maybe lose the backpack. Looks like he found some grunts backpack an ran off with it. I have seen arab and others in the region but I don't recall seeing many (any?) with backpacks.
The general composition of the unit... the boots, head gear, rifle, armguards, etc are all just super-duper. No suggestions other than the backpack really.
Keep up the good work. I find I am suddenly really looking forward to coming to your thread and seeing what new works of wonder you've been up too.
