I pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition of Civilization VI through Green Man Gaming due to the 20% discount there, and they say I'll receive my key code as the release date approaches. When I learned of this DLC I began to wonder if it will count as a "proper" pre-order (not being made through Steam itself) and inquired with them, but all they could give me in response was a verbatim repitition of the Deluxe Edition's pre-order content. Anyone know whether non-Steam pre-orders will have immediate access to the Aztec DLC? I'd really hate to have to wait 90 days just because I didn't pre-order via Steam. Thanks in advance for any answers you guys can provide.

Yes, pre-orders done via third party sites count as "proper" pre-orders, I've bought Beyond Earth on GMG myself and it worked just fine.

The way I understand it is that GMG reserves the key when your order is made, gets it sometime before release and then sends it to you when the game comes out.

Since GMG lists Aztecs at their info page as preorder bonus, it will be included.

Anyway, with GMG, anything listed on info page will be included. Anything not listed will be not.

@cyon, It's worth checking into because they have a lot of such across-the-board sales from what I've seen. It knocked the price of the Deluxe edition down to roughly a half dozen dollars more than the Standard Edition for me. Lately they've gone to a new "Member Pricing" format so some things may have changed since then, but any discount helps especially with those expensive Deluxe editions.
