need some help please

I got the complete edition disk. I am trying to instal on my computer, but am having problems. I have a hp touchsmart D7560, vista 64 bit. When i put in the disk and run auto install, i click on the install button, then it asks for the language. I get a little bar preparing the instal wizzard. When the instal wizard pops up, i click on next. the box will flash real quick and thats it. nothing after that. If i click on the read me box, and new window will pop up for a second, then goes bye-bye.

I tried doing the run as admin and click on the .exe and get the same results. This same disk loaded on my 6 year old laptop just fine.

Oh, and i am a computer moron, so lets keep this in lay-mans terms please.

Oh yea, when i exit out. it says setup.exe not responding

Tried it in safe mode and got this message when it would normally just flash

Error Number: 0x80040707
DLL FunctionCall Crashed: ISRT._CtrlSetMLERichText

did you try to install it with admin rights?

Yes. i think there is a problem with my install shield software registry. but, i lack the knowledge to figure it out

I saw that. that is pretty much the exact message i get. but, there are no instructions for vista systems

Are you installing using an administrator account (as well as right click > run as admin)? Do you have more than one administrator account on your computer?

It looks like it works the same in Vista as in XP although the value will be different. This is my Vista 32bit registry for that area. Your values may be different as you have Vista 64. Hopefully it will allow you to identify if you have any invalid paths.

looks like i have the same values as you. just looks a little differant. Me and my wife are admins. i tried to install on hers to. Yes, i am right clicking and selecting run as admin.

I finally am getting somewhere with tech support from the software company. They have me looking for a folder to rename that i cant find anywhere. Could be that the problem is that it doesnt exist

Well, they had me look for a folder to rename. It doesnt exist. Havent heard back from them.I guess imm stuck playing on my old laptop
