Tuturuu!
I know the Gladiators were never used in battle (at least not fighting for Rome). But its a Gladiator! Can it get any cooler?

You know, because there are hardly any seige-craft UUs out there, and only ONE in the regular game (Hwa'cha)
Why don't you give the Romans a Ballista or Onager as a UU.

The Roman military depended most of all on its soldiers. not cavalry, not siege engines, not warships.
But the Romans already have an infantry UU. I think the Ballista would be the best choice because the classical era is already laden with Axemen and Swordsmen replacements but very light on siege units.
The biggest problem though is a lack of graphics. If there's a ballista graphic out there, I haven't found it.
But putting a non-crossbow unit into the crossbow slot is a tantalizing proposal... particularly since I've been struggling to add new UU's while trying to keep the UU's per default units to a minimum.
Camel Archer has been made into a HA replacement, and I gave it an Attack bonus in Desert terrain.
What about a new 2nd Japanese UU? Current is Zero, but I don't particularly think that's a good uu.

I think so, yes. Besides, it looks too much as a weaker cavalry.
Perhaps give them a benefit against gunpowder units? Or, if that is possible xml-wise, a benefit to grenadiers only.
