Need testers for new editor

Tired of spending hours to balance your mod, because you need to navigate between units to edit their stats one by one, don't have a synthetic view and never remember if the Bronze age spearman with shield is stronger than the iron age swordsman without shield?

Then try Steph's expanded editor version 0.6.0!!

UnitComparer.jpg

How to use:
- In the BLDG or PRTO page, select the last command in the contextual menu (right click on the list on the left of the screen). That would be "compare units..." or "compare buildings..."
- You get a multi-columns list, showing all the items, as they have been filtered, with the main parameters (mostly the one with a numerical value).
- You can reorder the columns by drag an drop. Can you useful if you want to compare the cost vs the A/D for instance. Or compare the defense vs the bombardment strength. Just have to put the colmuns adjacent.
- When clicking on a column header, you will sort the list according to this column clicking again invert the sorting order.
- When you click in a cell... You can edit it directly!
- The main view and the compare view are synchronized.

Enjoy!

hey steph,

I have version 0.6.0 and created a new scenario in the normal editor and made sure it was uncompressed. Then I loaded it with your editor to just check things out and under the RACE tab, the barbarians and every leader from PTW is in red. The civpedia and icons tool says it cannot read any file for them. The Romans are also in red and the tool says that the '#LOVED_RACE_ROMANS' entry can't be found, but when I open a pediaicons file and look myself that particular line is listed there.

Thank You for all your hard work!
Takeo

I have the same problems with the Romans, and all the PTW civs. Also, for some reason, your editor doesn't realise the last unit in the list in the ANIMNAME list in the PediaIcons.txt
But all the things still work when playing the game.

Two things that would be useful:

a) Ask if user wants to save changes before exiting.
b) Open recent files.

Another thing that might be useful is sorting entries by Civilopedia keys (PRTO, GCON, BLDG, etc). The scenario I'm working on doesn't always have matching unit names and prto entries, so this feature would be more than a little handy.
