Need testers for new editor

I'm getting this error whenever clicking on a unit. It seems fine other than this...

Spoiler :
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

EDIT: It seems to have deleted the mod when I saved... luckily I was using a backup...

If you have an error, the complete report text is useless. The first line is enough. But sending me by email the biq you want to edit with a description of what you did and/or a screenshot is very useful

I hope you'll all see it now ;)

And it cannot "delete" a mod. It can possibly replace it...

It did replace it...

What I did was go to the units tab, add 31 Settlers, clicked on one, and got this:
EditorError.png

I clicked "Continue". Made my changes. Saved. Got this error:
EditorError2.jpg

Clicked "Continue" again. Exited. Attempted to open up the scenario in the regular Civ editor. It did not work this time, although the previous time it worked, but had no custom map or rules.

Here's the .biq:
http://www.divshare.com/download/6189800-fa0

-Bug corrected : error when selecting a unit after adding a new unit (recent bug created with the update of a deleted civ in the list of available civ)
-Bug corrected: the population cost of unit was not saved (recent bug created by the handling of multiple strategies units)
-A few more pages are now editable. The parameters can be changed, but it's not yet possible to add/delete/sort the items in the page. The "new" pages : Citizens, Culture, Diffiulty, Diplomat and espionnage, eras, experience, workr job, world size, and flavor.

Not so much an error, but when i load my mod, it tells me that the number of images in the resources file is too small, although it is correct in the real editor. Can your editor not yet find the custom files for a mod? It doesn't load my civilopedia or pediaicons files either, just the default ones.

When I click on tools-"Civpedia and Icons..." while on the units page, I get this error message:
System.ObjectDisposedException: Cannot access a disposed object.
Object name: 'FormPedia'.

This does not happen when i load the default ruleset biq.

Edit: In addition, on the units page, no matter what unit I select, ALL of the tickboxes in the "Available To:" section are empty.

It should load them properly. Can you email me your biq?

When I click on tools-"Civpedia and Icons..." while on the units page, I get this error message:
There's a small error here I need to correct. If you open the Civpedia and Icons tool, and keep it opened, it should work an update itself when you click on a different window. But if you close it and want to open it again, then you get the error.

Edit: In addition, on the units page, no matter what unit I select, ALL of the tickboxes in the "Available To:" section are empty.
Damn! My latest correction introduced a new error :(. I will correct it ASAP.

Never mind, I found my error. Turns out I was I looking at two different files, and one of them had some transposed letters in the file path. It loads my images now. :-)

Thank you for the present Steph. Once I got through a few small problems (my problems, not yours - things like making sure the biq was uncompressed) I messed around with the new editor a bit, and am very impressed with how it all works. I'll await each new addition eagerly, it should make modding way easier than it is at present.

Can we have a message that asks if we want to save when exiting the program please? It would be all to easy to lose a load of work without that.

Version 0.4.0 is up

-With the addition of building and governments, all the pages are now editable except for a few details like spaceship parts! Next; add the filter, add, delete, etc on the pages which still need them.
-It's no longer possible to browse the pages before you loaded a scenario
-The name of the loaded scenario is displayed in the title of the window
-When you save, a message indicates when the save is finished.

Note: buildings have a "CanBribe" flag, but in the sample I've used, it's always set to "false". However, it doesn't seem to prevent propaganda... So I'm not sure what is the real effect of this flag.

And with this, I wish you a very happy :newyear: of modding!

i've got a problem with your editor, too.
i tried to open my mod and get this message:

attachment.php

the .biq is attached.
i hope you've got a good start into 2009!

Custom maps should now be supported. You can add or delete units and civilizations, and the map should update correctly, even if it contains pre placed units / cities / colonies.

If you place units / cities / colonies for Civilization A and B, and the civilizations are A, B, C, and then delete civilization A, with the regular editor the units and cities that belonged to civ A are deleted, but the units and cities that belonged to civ B are then "reasign" to civ C.
With my editor, they remain assigned to civ B.
I've tried to test this feature, but I'm not sure it works 100% OK. The way colonies are saved in the map doesn't seem to match the description made by Gramphos. With my test, the update seems OK though... And for victory location, it seems it doesn't work well. If I place a victory location for civ A and then delete civ A, the victory location is reassign to none instead of being deleted as it should, and then it can crash the editor...

BTW, I managed to have barbarian cities in the editor... But when starting the game, the barbarians cities disappeared :(

Shoot! The rest sounds good.
