Need testers for new editor

Okay, so maybe I wasn't clear. My apologies.

The editor has the ability to filter units by nationality, type, etc. What I'd like to see as an additional filter is the ability to filter the list according to civilopedia key. In this way, it would be easier to locate the real entry name that the PRTO entry belongs to, like a reverse lookup feature.

Here's a fictional example (based on a real life problem with names changed):

Unit name: Bullfrog
Civilopedia: PRTO_Bullfrog

Let's say that sometime during the game, the scenario creator changes the name to Zebra without touching the civilopedia entry. Thus you would have:

Unit name: Zebra
Civilopedia: PRTO_Bullfrog

Instead of having to go through the entire unit list one by one to find which unit name the PRTO_Bullfrog belongs to, you could simply filter by PRTO key, then look at the Bullfrog entry to find out that the unit name was Zebra.

It really would save time having to search the entire entry list to find the right name. Hope this explains it better :)

Now I understand.

I'll do something like that, adding the name and civentry with wildcard as a filter.

So wtih "*French*" you could have all the units with name (or PRTO) contains "French".

Can be useful to help organize things.

I'm sorry if this has been asked but what is the compatability with regards to vista?

Shoot your fast thanks.

I use Vista and have not had any problems that weren't caused by my own stupidity.
Sorry, I could make a patch for the editor, but I cannot make a patch to upgrade buggy user ;)

My job is to develop software based on geographical information system.

Once, I had a customer who called me for hotline support. He was very upset "your damned program does not work! It deleted everything I did during the week, I can only see a big blue screen!"

After a few questions, I gave him the solution to "restore" his data.

"You are at the maximum zoom level, right in the middle of the sea. Unzoom until you can see the coast again".

That is excellent work, Steph! I guess in French I should say "Chapeau" isn't that right?

I am using the Editor with the German Conquests Version patched to 1.22 and it works pretty good. I do have to save the file as a new one to make the changes work, though. It gives me errors for files with special characters like ä ü ö etc., but the .biq File works fine.

Thanx for all your effort, buddy.

Hi Steph, thanks for the great new editor!

I have been getting an error message on the RACE page. Whenever I click on a civ's name, I get an error saying:
Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
Parameter name: index
I'm allowed to continue and everything seems to work, but it's kind of annoying.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or if I've just done something wrong. I have edited my civ's, but I think they're in there right. And sorry if this has been mentioned before, I checked the last few pages of this thread, but not the whole thing.
Thanks!

Your editor doesn't wan't to load the modern era grahpics on the tech tree builder for some reason and comes up with an unhandled exception error-Continue or Quit.
Other than that, I love this thing, it has made modding sooooo much easier!
Thnaks.:goodjob:

Send me the biq, so I can check if I get the same message and see where it comes from

Hey Steph, thanks for looking at this and for all your work here. I'll warn you, this biq is from an incomplete scenario (although I'm pretty much done with the RACE section at this point) so if you have any questions about what I've done please ask.

Hi Steph.

Microsoft framework... which one do I need? When I search this on Microsofts website comes up with lots of different things. Could you give me the exact title or a link?

Also I downloaded a few of them to test out, and because I'm using a Korean computer, with Korean as the default Windows language they all install in Korean. No option is given to custom install and thereby select English. Is there a way to install these in English? The version I'm downloading says it is an English version.

Sorry for the nooby questions. But I'm noob with computers... I feel especially spastic in light of the above comments re 'user' being a swearword etc.

Cheers

Nick
