Jiangsu
Emperor Fu walked out onto the Imperial Podium and began to address a large crowd. Some were citizens, who were frightened of the army knocking at Nanjing’s door. They had heard stories of the Beijing’s soldiers being monstrous beasts who were possessed by evil spirits which turned them into blood thirsty consciousness killers. The other part of the crowd was made up of soldiers. Some had recently returned from the southern war and were experienced and honored warriors. Others were in the new divisions raised to fight off Beijing Hordes. Fu cleared his through and began to speak, “Today marks a new day for the Jiangsu Empire, because today we prove ourselves in the face of evil. We move from one war to another, a great victory to a great travesty. This invasion proves a test, for it is our destiny to be the greatest empire to ever grace this planet. Our armies will rise up and come down on the Beijing army and crush them all the way back to the boarder, then keep on going to Beijing itself and I will not stop until the demented king of the north’s body lies dead among the last refuge of his army, his body shall rot in the sun and be consumed by the buzzards and the crows and the dogs. This is not just revenge this is extinguishing the flames of darkness and saving the east, nay the world from these demons. The vision of glory is in the hearts of you fine men,” Fu points at the troops before him, “our souls will follow you all the way into the deepest dark depths of hell and onward to victory!”
The Emperor returned back into the palace after receiving a volley of cheers from the audience. It had been a successful speech, but it seemed like a insignificant accomplishment in comparison to the great challenges that awaited him. Fu’s visions had brought him a quick victory over the Fujians. However, this was a new vicious enemy, Jiangsu stood alone against this foe. The Empire had two saving graces its new enemy, experience and an undying will to fight for its right to survive.
Out on the country side a soldier stared at the division’s standards blowing in the wind. The honored 15th division served the empire well in the Fujian war, but now with their home province under Beijing control they were more anxious as ever to get home. Many friend and brothers lost their lives defending the country during the invasion. Revenge burned in the hearts of the men, they would soon get their wishes.
