Nes Instrumentality Project : An invitation

yes.

It shall be good.

UPDATE IS UP. (or will be soon)

Anyhow, i wanted to point out a few things:

1: How does the economy work? Lets look at an example:

NESIA:
Economy: 5 PPs
Treasury -2 PPs, +1 PPs

So how much money do you actually have? the answer: you have 4 PPs to spend. 5 is your total income, 2 is what is taken out as expenses and upkeep, and one comes from other things (you control some enemy territory, someone gave it to you, good trade agreement etc etc) So if you have any more questions PM
2: I am not going to put trade agreements on the blog treaty list. Why? because it is quite unnecessary. It is 1908, everyone is trading with everyone already. Is not like France all of the sudden wanted to start trading with the Italians because before this point they had never traded :p. So is a waste of my time to keep up with them.

I will however maintain economic blocks and agreements. historical examples include the German Zollverein, the Latin Union, the current European Union (Treaty of Rome) etc etc. If you dont understand.. pm me.

3: I think thats all. I didnt mentioned everything on the update... because it was trivial... or i forgot about it. I might do mini updates, mainly to explain what is going on in certain places with more details. But other than that, Orders are due on Thursday at 7 PM US Central Time. Same format.

Ok! time for some old fashioned diplo!

From Prussia:
To Three Crowns:
It seems that you do not understand the concept of the Greater Zollverein, there is to be no tariffs or trade barriers between members. However we are all to maintain tariffs on regards to trade that comes from non members. Your recent treaties w/ other nations to remove tariffs with them makes all of the Zollverein weak. Their goods flood your country, which then are transported to our countries, exploiting the no tariffs deal what we have struck. Making our national industries lose bussiness and increase unemployment.

We ask you to withdraw from these treaties that you have signed with Non Zollverein members. If not, Prussia and the other members will consider removing you.

From Korea:
To France:
We ask you to make your stance official, will you recognise our independence?

From Prussia:
To Japan:
We ask you to please remove your forces from Chinese sovereign territory. This is by no means an aggressive statement, but we think that diplomacy works better and the sword should not be used until completely necessary.

Other secret diplo to be sent in a few.

Sorry for the crappy update

ok, the update is up, map is up, stats are up and treaties are up. going to bed now. finished on saturday, as i said i would :)

A Proposal

From: France
To: Portugal, the Spanish Republicans, the German Empire, Hungary, the Russian Empire, Greece, and Italy.

We propose an economic bloc and defensive pact named the Orthodox-Catholic Alliance in which freer trade is encouraged and the health of our nations is promoted.

To: whom it may concern

France will be obligated to defend Korean sovereignty against possible Japanese aggression. We also extend this offer towards China. We hope the British Empire will join us in trying to maintain peace in the East.

I am looking at joining this NES (I hope I can!!!). Looking at Australia. Australia and New Zealand are the same colour. Am I correct in saying that they are one country or not??

From: President Gabriele d’Annunzio of Italy
To: France

We must flatly reject your offer. Italy sees no need to entangle itself in 15th century-esque religious alliances.

We propose an economic bloc and defensive pact named the Orthodox-Catholic Alliance in which freer trade is encouraged and the health of our nations is promoted.

To: France
From: Spain

We ask that you withdraw your offer to the Spanish so-called Republicans for two reasons. First, your pact is named the "Orthodox-Catholic Alliance." However, the vast majority of Catholics in Spain support the rightful government of Spain under Colonel Severiano Martinez Anido. Secondly, your pact is to promote the "health of our nations." However, as their history has shown, the "republicans" do not care about the health of their nation. Instead, they care only about their own health, stealing funds from the people of Spain in order to line their own pockets, dooming the "health" of Spain through their own greed and incompetence. Thus, if you truly wish to unite Catholics and see for the health of your neighbors, you would be better to make your offer to True Spain, and not those corrupt politicians in Madrid.

Edit:

To:World
From: Spain

The politicians in Spain have proven corrupt and incompetent. When the people of Spain attempted to save the government through the government system, they were ignored, and even worse, actively oppressed. The people of Spain then decided it had no choice but to resort to war so that its voice might be heard and the government cleansed of the corrupt elements. As such, we ask the governments of the world to cease recognizing the government in Madrid, who has lost the support of the people, and recognize the government of the people, championed by the El Partido Unido Popular (United People’s Party).

You must leave China, until then we must occupy Hainan to protect ourselves and the far east.

@HMS Vanguard: You can take Australia if you wish

Republican Spain:
To France: We accept your proposal

Prussia:
To Japan:
your logic does not make sense, we are not a threat to anyone in that region. Other than ofcourse, ruin the imperialist goals of others such as yourlself.

To: El Partido Unido
From: France

Is reform to be taken at the point of a gun? You complain of corruption, but do you not think that such a violent movement, stirring the vigilantism and hatred of the people, will not cause social ills? If necessary, France will facilitate negotiations between the government and your rebels. Perhaps said corruption can be changed? Reformed for the better? In fact, such military coups often led to a militarized state. States where the people lose their corrupt bureaucrats and exchange them for corrupt military officers. Perhaps elections can be arranged? Surely Portugal would be interested into aiding its Iberian neighbor.

Announcement From the Republican Government:
Spain allows the French government to intervene after asking them to help

OOC: thats what you wanted right a_pro?

To: France
From: Spain

We attempted to reform the country peacefully, however, the traitors in Madrid, who do not want reform, banned us from attempting to reform through legal means. This has led us to the unfortunate conclusion that those in power do not want to see reform, but only the continuation of their corrupt policies. The house of Spain is falling around our heads, it is too late to put up curtains and say that it is now fine, wholesale rebuilding must occur if the structure is to be saved.

Now there is only one alternative to the regretable state of war. The king must dissolve Parliament, and immediately hold new elections. Any current or past member of Parliament must be banned from running in the new elections, for they have already proven to be corrupt and we cannot trust them to listen to the will of the people. Unless that happens, we can not ensure that the people of Spain will be heard and we will continue to bear arms on their behalf.

No. Western Imperialism does not threaten the nations of the Far East, Eastern Imperialism threatens the Far East. Once, decades ago under the Emperor Meiji before his change of mind, all of East Asia from Thailand to Korea looked to Japan as the beacon of hope for liberty and freedom from conquest and colonization from the Western Powers. That day is no more, Japan now oppresses the same nations that once looked upon them as hoped for liberators.

There is no Western Imperialism to defend the Far East from, there is only Japanese Imperialism. China is more than powerful enough to defend herself, have we not done that for the last 5000 years? It is Japan that refuses to see the truth. Prussia has done nothing but good deeds in China, their name and country is praised by all in China for their selfless deeds; the same cannot be said of Japan and their unrelenting greed.

You have long cast off the role of the "Liberator of Asia," will you now cast off that name as well?

To: the Spanish government
From: France

We hope that you will try to reform and end this peacefully.

To: The People's Party

We hope you will not instigate intervention by fighting.

To: whom it may concern

France will facilitate elections if both Republicans and Nationalists agree. To prevent fighting from harming shipping and civilians, a French division will quarantine the Pyrenees and one squadron will quarantine the Spanish coast. Any non-Spanish civilian or military ship and foreign citizens will be stopped and turned away from Spanish lands or waters. We hope to prevent the misfire of both sides on any neutral vessels or civilians.

To: France
From: Spain

Let it be known that your proclamation of a blockade upon Spain is grounds for war. The world can easily see through your clumsy attempts to ruin Spain’s economy by cutting her of from foreign trade. Cease this foolhardy plan immediately and apologize for your infringement upon the national sovereignty of Spain. Until you do, Spain officially cuts all diplomatic ties with France and declares that any French soldier or warship found in Spanish territorial waters will automatically be seen as hostile and fired upon. In addition, French citizens in Spain must immediately register with their local government and travel restrictions placed upon them. Failure to comply with these measures will be seen as confirming that the person is a French spy and they will be summarily arrested and tried for treason.

We are open to talk to you about it.

To Japan
From China

Being a civilized nation, albeit primitive compared to the West, we are willing to listen to the Japanese proposal on withdrawing from Hainan as well as inquiring into what inspired them to go to such great lengths to defend Chinese soverignity.
