NES2 VI - Last Semblance of Order.

Very well, we will hear what France has to say about the rest of the problems Russia has with the current wording of the treaty.

And France shall agree to remove all sections of articles corresponding to the legality of any actions within this war, given that Russia agrees to remove itself from Poland, Finland, Hungary, and Romania. France is willing to recognize Russia's personal union with Romania, if Romania is to remain independent, but we maintain that the Russian Union shall not be allowed agreements which are military in nature with the Kingdoms of Poland, or Hungary.

We agree to all of these conditions. I believe that leaves only the matter of reparations.

In that case I will write up a big story and let Panda make a few choices tomorrow morning. I would also apreciate it if Moldavia was Russian and not Romanian, but that is not entirely necessary.

The Union of Scandinavia might be willing to settle for 1,000,000 Riksmark in reparations for income lost due to the Russian occupation of Jutland and Lapland. However, if we are to do so we request being given control of the Baltic islands instead, specifically the island of Gotland and the Aalands. We are willing to let Russia keep the two isles of the Estonian coast.

I have a question.Which on the map is the Kingdom of Sennar.

Bout time to start a rebel movement. Eh?
purple one in africa. Keep your hands off it...

moose, the current group in Sennar was a rebel movement that i insighted so it would begin and allowed it to grow, but then they chose to turn on me after i was the one who gave them such a chance of power and now are attacking Abyssania, which is now npced, so if you want it you can have it.

Russia re-itirates that we have been most civil during all our occupations and have not damaged any cities or infrastructure. If we are made to pay reparations simply for an occupation of some area then we expect France and Japan, who have burned cities and destroyed infrastructure, to pay much higher reparations to Russia.

The Union of Scandinavia is not going to just let all the Russian troops walk out saying thanks for letting us stay. If the Russian union is so dissatisfied with our proposal, then we suggest that Russia makes a counteroffer.
It is, however, the belief of the Union of Scandinavia that our offer is extremely generous all things considered.

Letter from Tsar Vladimir IV to King Julien-François I

"Sir,

Following the examination of the peace proposal Chancellor Bestuzhev has brought back to Russia from his negotiations with you I must inform you that I find it unacceptable.

Your attempts to encircle Russia and to deny us our right to conduct diplomacy as we wish will never be accepted and will never succeed. You may be able to force a peace upon us, but only after years and years of fighting in Russia, and when you achieve this, it will not be a lasting peace but instead a short-lived one.

I therefore appeal to your senses and your good judgment and re-itirate my committment to defending Russia and fighting until a fair peace treaty can be reached.

Sincerely,

Tsar Vladimir IV"

Letter from Chancellor Aleksey Bestuzhev to King Julien-François I

"Your Majesty,

All my attempts to convince Tsar Vladimir of the fact that the peace proposal we have arrived at last month is fair have failed. He will hear none of it and truely believes that it is possible for Russia to win the war, or at least to drag it out long enough to achieve a better peace from France.

I am aware, on the other hand, of the fact that even if it may be possible for us to drag out the war, it will take a huge toll on Russia's peoples and Russia's economy, and will only hurt both of our countries needlessly. This vision is shared by most people in Moscow and other parts of the country, and should hostilities resume Tsar Vladimir would be hard-pressed to find loyal people to committ to the fighting.

I have, therefore, a request to make of you. Vladimir's younger brother, Mikhail, is a supporter of the peace proposal I have created, and a supporter of the democratic movement within Russia. I strongly believe that the only way to save the peace proposal and to allow Russia to move forward, rebuild, and prosper is to allow Mikhail to take the throne. I believe that this can be done easily should you provide your support for the endavour.

What will be required of you is recognition of Mikhail as soon as he takes the throne, and temporary aid to Russia to paint Mikhail as a benevolent monarch who is doing all he can to help the people of the country, and avert any possibility of instability in the country.

In return, of course, Russia shall honor all of its committments in the peace treaty, and after that we will go our own seperate ways, and the continued development of democratic institutions on both of our countries will hopefully mean that our paths shall not cross in this manner again.

Sincerely yours,

Chancellor Aleksey Bestuzhev"

Letter from Stepan Slutsky to King Julien-François I

"Your Majesty,

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Stepan Slutsky, the former Chancellor of Russia and the top advisor to Tsar Vladimir.

As you probably already know Tsar Vladimir has decided to reject the peace proposal you and Chancellor Bestuzhev have drawn up, and this means most likley that hostilities will resume and a long and drawn-out war will ensue. I believe that this is neither in your interests nor in mine.

Tsar Vladimir has proven himself incompetent by giving up much of his power to the Chancellory and failing to display any sort of leadership during the war with you. Now he continues to drag all of us into this ridiculous war.

I believe that the situation can be fixed with great benefits to both of us. Tsar Vladimir has a son, Alexander, who is still very young and cannot rule himself. If Vladimir and his brother, Mikhail, were to disappear or to abdicate, the throne would pass to Alexander. With your help we can paint the failures of the war as a fault of present Chancellor Bestuzhev and with your support I can become the Chancellor of Russia and rule as regent while Alexander is young.

I am sure that it is in your best interests to have a friendly and open Russia instead of a wounded bear whos main goal is to seek revenge upon you.

Sincerely,

Stepan Slutsky"
