Declaration to the Free Peoples of Europe by King Frederik II of Finland

To the Free Peoples of Europe

This is the face of evil. The face of death, destruction, and desolation. This is vile tempter, holding out his Apple of Sin. For Treason is a Sin, good people of Europe. I pray that you remember this.

Even so, I ask you, what freedoms are denied you by Valérien? The right to revolt? The right to destroy? The right to bring ruin to the lives of millions? If these are the "rights", the "freedoms" that must be given up for the sake of security, prosperity, and peace, so be it! This price, if it could even be called such, is nothing compared to the benefits of the Holy Empire.

This Devil would have you bite the hand that feeds, would have you destroy the carefully constructed security that has been created for you, would have you dash to pieces all that you stand for, all that has been done for you. Yes! Yes! For YOU good people. Did Julien II die for personal gain? Has Valérien taken multiple assassination attempts in stride to increase his pocketbook? What possible good comes to him from this? The Emperors have only ever had the interests of the People at heart! Will you now reverse all that he has built for you? All that you have helped him build? For this Mighty Realm is a product of the people as much as of the Emperor. Would you burn down your own house?

But I insult your intelligence. I know as well as you, good people, that you are not swayed by Satan's words. I know that you stand as firm and ready as ever, for the greater good of the empire, for your families, for prosperity, and for the future. These are dark times of rebellion and sedition. However, these are also times for the true Free People of Europe to show their worth, to look the Evil One in the eye and say, No, I will stand firm in my conviction. I walk the path of prosperity, of peace, of the New Order.

And I will not be dissuaded.

Signed,
King Frederik II of Finland
Mighty Sovereign
Humble Servant

To The "Free" People of The empire under Leadership of le petit prince:
From the Friend oF the People.

Again, my name is yet to be known, and just like me, the organizations under my leadership will remain secret as to maintain our identity safe from the Imperial secret police.
But let there be no question that the egalitarian movement is not dead, and much less leaderless. The revolution is inevitable, but we as a people must not arise suspicion until the right time comes.
I write this letter today to reply to the allegations of King Frederik II of Finland regarding the state of Europe today.

From The Atlantic, to the baltic and all of the famous capitals in between are under what i must call the Imperial sphere. It is the several regimes, large or small that maintain their power and press their will against the people. The Egalitarian movement is not a phenomenon that only occurs in the holy roman empire, but is indeed closer to a universal search towards an international revolution and purification from the current world order.

What other words can we expect from another Monarch of Europe? King Frederick grows fat as Scandinavian workers die in coal mines and give away their lifes in timber yards for no future. He dares to claim that Treason is Sin, and indeed it is officially. The Church of france as sad as it might sound is also part of the machine that feed lies to the peoples and the workers. That Religion that is under state influece is what i must call the Opium of the masses. He claims that by revolution we would reverse everything the Monarchy has built for us. But the reality is that the nation is built and maintained by the tears, sweat and blood of its workers. Revolution will only ensure that what WE have built is returned to its rightful owners. The monarchy did not built for us, but used us to build something for themselfs.

Peace and prosperity is used as a blanket to guarantee control of the people. But peace and prosperity w/out the exploitation of the lower larger classes can only be achieved by the ideals of revolution and egalitarianism. The people is not ignorant nor stupid, and the movement will not be pushed over by mere words of monarchs from the palaces.

Well, that speech was received differently than I had hoped. It wasn't really supposed to be taken as pure religious dogma, it was more of a metaphor depicting revolutionaries as devils with tempting fruit that is rotten on the inside blah blah blah short road is the easy road is the road to ruin blah blah blah the emperor loves you blah blah blah.

So, I wasn't gunning for just the religious aspect, was more a useful example. Oh well, sorry Panda.

I'm beginning to think I should have played a pro-Imperial newspaper than an actual nation. Its a lot of fun to write rhetoric, but it looks kind of funny coming from a foreign king, marginal vassal or not.

EDIT: I guess I could do both. Assuming thats cool with Panda. I mean, he could always shut me down, take me out back, and shoot me if he doesn't like the ads or something ;)

The ITCfAoFaJ must, unfortunately, agree with the imperialist dogs of the "Holy" "Roman" "Empire" [of the "French" Nation]. Shooting people does work better than telling them they are going to Hell. Therefore, the ITCfAoFaJ strongly recommends that The People resist the impulse to tell their government officials to "go to Hell", and instead take more proactive and effective measures to ensure that they arrive there in a timely manner.

Stalin's commentary is irrelevant, don't let that discourage you when writing stories. Though it is a BIT odd that a foriegn king is making stories supporting the empire and such.

@Panda - Thanks, and Frederik II will very shortly be revealed to be a little senile, or some other such nonsense that will explain his bizarre behaviour. So your allies will become a little more normal ;)

@Dis - I read through some of your articles and I assure you mine will be far less based on... ah... facts, relying instead much more heavily on "facts". As if that made any sense at all. Anyway, I think I'm gonna go ahead and do a very pro-Empire publication, essentially all editorial type journalism, very little news reporting. So I hope that doesn't step on your toes too much ;) And, hey, don't forget you have Victor to play around with again :p

Cheers,
LB

Hahaha, guess I'll have to use [joke][/joke] tags next time ;). a) I don't mind in the slightest, and b) you shouldn't care even if I did. 'sides mine were a means to a end, no more.

*takes off reporter hat*

I figured you were joking, but you never know ;). Doesn't pay to piss off the mod of your (currently) most difficult NES :p. Also, I looked up yours out of genuine interest and the desire to not be a clone. But I'll stop spamming the thread and actually think of a story to write.

yeah ignore and stuff, i am just looking for ways to write stories. :) welcome to nesing Littleboots :D

Thanks! And stories are great, I really like your position. definitely gives me stuff to write back

Just didn't want my stuff to be taken has someone else's position.

That said... its time that Le Figaro opened for business. Actually, that wouldn't make any sense here (:p)... hmmm....

Le Voix du Citoyan Imperiale sound good (and more importantly, grammatically correct ;)) to you Panda?

IP, I am active. I was just gone this past week. Sorry for forgetting to post it on the Vacation thread.

To: Holy Roman Empire [of the French Nation]
From: Byzantine Empire

We wholeheartedly agree to your defensive and trade proposals and wish for continued good relations between our two countries.

To: Kingdom of Romania
From: Byzantine Empire

We propose an official defensive alliance, formalizing our ties that already, in effect, exist, due to our mutual alliance with the Holy Roman Empire.

We agree to your proposed alliance.

I'll be reading through this NES more in detail tomorrow, but it strikes me as odd that Finland (before going down under a short Russian occupation) was a Constitutional Monarchy (The government I picked myself), and now when it was recreated under the same king. It's an Absolute Monarchy. :hmm: Otherwise looking good. :)

@Whoever is playing Finland: Make mistakes and I'll nail you myself. :)

I doubt they actually care what you'll do reno

It's an Absolute Monarchy.

Indeed it is. A part of la Reaction as it were...

Glad to see that Dachs turned up in any case. I was hoping for that.
