This thread. This round is just the leaders with the most nominations. After this round I might open it up to more nominations but there were enough for at least another round.
I had no idea that we were actually nominating leaders multiple times in this thread; rather I assumed we were simply "suggesting" options for the poll. So I guess you picked the leaders the few people mentioned multiple times. *shrug* I don't like most of the leaders mentioned in this newer elimination game, so I won't participate. Maybe in the next round.

I assumed the same too.

Yongle should replace Taizong, since Taizong is in the Chinese version of Civ IV.

I am making the executive decision that spin off games and one offs for different markets don't count as seen before.

I am sorry to hear that. Perhaps the leaders in the 2nd round would be more to your liking.

Marcus Aurelius (Rome) 14
Meiji (Japan) 15
Muʿāwiya I (Arabia) 20
Richard I (England) 19

Taizong (China) 20

I'm surprised to see Juscelino Kubitschek to go before Getúlio Vargas. In my opinion, Vargas was worse president compared to Kubitschek.

@Kimiimaro I didn't even notice him on the list; I guess I have two leaders to split my downvotes between, then. :p

Abbas I(Persia) 21
Akbar (India) 20
Akhenaten (Egypt) 21
Alexander II (Russia) 20
Alfred the Great (England) 19 (22-3) While he was no doubt the better leader, Richard I is more iconic and would perfectly fit with Barbarossa and Saladin.
Al-Mansur (Arabia) 20
Georges Clemenceau (France) 21
Getúlio Vargas (Brazil) 21
Haakon VII (Norway) 17
Juscelino Kubitschek (Brazil) 8
Kanmu (Japan) 20
Marcus Aurelius (Rome) 14
Meiji (Japan) 15
Muʿāwiya I (Arabia) 21 (20+1) He's everything you ever wanted in a leader
Richard I (England) 19
Shah Jahan (India) 21

Taizong (China) 20
Thomas Jefferson (America) 20

Really? Juscelino Kubitschek created Brasília that was part of his plan of developmentalist government, but Getúlio Vargas seems to me a better option, he ruled Brazil during World War II and he sent the Pracinhas to fight in Europe, which in my opinion would be the best UU to Brazil

On the other way, his first term after revolution was dictatorship, and it eventually ended by a coup. But I know he did good things, too. For example, created Petrobrás, which exists even today and it's still one of the greatest oil producers in the world. I cannot judge him much, I don't know much about him. I can say he was interesting president who did several good things, but I prefer Kubitschek.

Yes, fair. I do not think Brazil will receive a second leader, at least not so soon. But Juscelino Kubitschek would not be a bad choice, I just prefer Getúlio Vargas because of Pracinhas.

You are right with the fact that Brazil probably won't recieve another leader. Brazil doesn't need another leader after all, since Firaxis picked the best leader that Brazil ever had (and probably my favourite historical leader) - Pedro II.

Akbar (India) 20
Akhenaten (Egypt) 21
Alexander II (Russia) 20
Alfred the Great (England) 19+1=20 Seriously one of my favorite historical people. Not only competent and intelligent but actually a decent human being.
Al-Mansur (Arabia) 20
Georges Clemenceau (France) 21
Getúlio Vargas (Brazil) 21
Haakon VII (Norway) 17
Juscelino Kubitschek (Brazil) 8
Kanmu (Japan) 20
Marcus Aurelius (Rome) 14
Meiji (Japan) 15
Muʿāwiya I (Arabia) 21
Richard I (England) 19-3=16 Just about bankrupted his country to pay for his overseas murder vacation (and subsequent ransom). Plus, he would be a FRENCH-speaking leader for England.
Shah Jahan (India) 21
Shapur II (Persia) 20
Taizong (China) 20
Thomas Jefferson (America) 20

Abbas I (Persia) 21
Akbar (India) 20
Akhenaten (Egypt) 21
Alexander II (Russia) 20
Alfred the Great (England) 20
Al-Mansur (Arabia) 20
Georges Clemenceau (France) 21
Getúlio Vargas (Brazil) 21
Haakon VII (Norway) 17
Juscelino Kubitschek (Brazil) 8-3=5 He built a city for scandalous corrupt politicians. Yawn
Kanmu (Japan) 20
Marcus Aurelius (Rome) 14
Meiji (Japan) 15
Muʿāwiya I (Arabia) 21
Richard I (England) 16+1=17 Even though he spent most of his time away from his home country, he was still respected back at home. Also the fact that Saladin is the leader of Arabia makes me want to have The Lionheart in here because I like to have historical leader rivalries in the game.
Shah Jahan (India) 21
Shapur II (Persia) 20
Taizong (China) 20 We are talking about an international release of Taizong of Tang right?
Thomas Jefferson (America) 20

Shah Jahan (India) 2-3=-1 (ELIMINATED) - Sorry, I couldn't help myself, but when he magically dropped from 21 to 2, I thought this would be nice reminder :P

Wait I think we are missing some people from the list, we need a new head count.

Abbas I (Persia) 21
Akbar (India) 20
Akhenaten (Egypt) 21
Alexander II (Russia) 20
Alfred the Great (England) 20
Al-Mansur (Arabia) 20
Georges Clemenceau (France) 21
Getúlio Vargas (Brazil) 21
Haakon VII (Norway) 17
Ivan III The Great (Russia) 20
Juscelino Kubitschek (Brazil) 5
Kanmu (Japan) 20
Marcus Aurelius (Rome) 14
Meiji (Japan) 15
Muʿāwiya I (Arabia) 21
Richard I (England) 17
Shah Jahan (India) 21
Shapur II (Persia) 20
Taizong (China) 20
Thomas Jefferson (America) 20

I've just notice Ivan III the Great has disappeared from recent lists so I've added him back in.

Abbas I (Persia) 21
Akbar (India) 20
Akhenaten (Egypt) 21
Alexander II (Russia) 20
Alfred the Great (England) 20
Al-Mansur (Arabia) 20
Georges Clemenceau (France) 21
Getúlio Vargas (Brazil) 21 +1 = 22 A cobra vai fumar (The snake will to smoke)
Haakon VII (Norway) 17
Ivan III The Great (Russia) 20
Juscelino Kubitschek (Brazil) 5
Kanmu (Japan) 20
Marcus Aurelius (Rome) 14 - 3 = 11 He does not interest me so much, I'm more interested in Constantine I
Meiji (Japan) 15
Muʿāwiya I (Arabia) 21
Richard I (England) 17
Shah Jahan (India) 21
Shapur II (Persia) 20
Taizong (China) 20
Thomas Jefferson (America) 20

Juscelino Kubitschek (Brazil) 8-3=5 He built a city for scandalous corrupt politicians. Yawn

  This is a fact.

Juscelino Kubitschek (Brazil) 8-3=5 He built a city for scandalous corrupt politicians. Yawn

By the same logic, I can blame legendary queen Libuše for founding Prague, city for scandalous corrupt politicians :P

Abbas I (Persia) 21
Akbar (India) 20
Akhenaten (Egypt) 21
Alexander II (Russia) 20
Alfred the Great (England) 20
Al-Mansur (Arabia) 20
Georges Clemenceau (France) 21
Getúlio Vargas (Brazil) 22
Haakon VII (Norway) 17-3=14 - He was a sportsman and he ruled Norway during WWII. Yawn. Really, Norway needs second leader even less than Brazil. He should be the first eliminated.
Ivan III The Great (Russia) 20
Juscelino Kubitschek (Brazil) 5
Kanmu (Japan) 20
Marcus Aurelius (Rome) 11
Meiji (Japan) 15+1=16 - We need a non-samurai leader of Japan. Samurais aren't whole Japanese history. During his reign, Japan became industrial superpower of the east, beated Russia and China, two world superpowers, and it eventually became one of the world's most influental and most industrial countries.
Muʿāwiya I (Arabia) 21
