With 2/17 - CP only, the tech tree seems to be broken:

I'm a little bit disappointed in the 'fight' the AI is putting up to hold on to a city or two, but the map is pretty mountainous, so that makes it tough, even for me. We shall see.

G

Are you saying they didn't put up much of a fight or enough of a fight? I'm surprised, I've been seeing a lot more resistance from AI lately when I merged ilteroi's recent commits. I have not tried 2-17 yet.

God of Wealth change could make it really awesome late game with sth like Cathedrals, right now AI loves this pantheon a bit too much and it doesn't help that it's usually taken by the only AI that can't into positive GPT. Will try taking this belief once I finish my previous beta game.

Also suggestion : could religious buildings be made to tell their yields during religion beliefs choice?

Also last beta game I noticed some AI (Montezuma with Synagogues and his pal Dido with Orders) were building their Faith buildings before enhancing - in fact Monty has built a Synagogue in every city of his which slowed his enhancement so much it's Medieval and he probably still hasn't gotten a second Prophet. That's generally a terrible idea, is it possible to make AI try to not build anything of the sort before enhancement?

the AI often have very unreasonable territorial 'claims'. like in my current game (feb13 beta) I randomed Egypt and have both marble and stone in Cap, so naturally I went tradition wonder whoring and neglected expanding whilst polynesia popped cities like mushrooms and forward settled me like crazy and still it's not enough so they declare war on me

And when finally i decided to expand to the only corner still left and overlap 2 tiles with my cap I get message from Arabia from across the pond demanding me to not settle 'near' him. since there is no more room I obviously agreed to the demand but get hit with a-80 diplo penalty WTH?

So I razed his 2 ridiculous cites and got settle a 3rd city myself and made peace, then poly asked me to stop settling near him to. so again i agreed and did not settle again but somehow 20 or 30 turns later I 'broke' the promise without settling any new cities

also at turn 100 or so I got hit with a -15 diplomacy penalty with all known civs because they didn't like my congress proposal... but the congress hasn't even been formed yet. This is the 2nd game in a row that his happened (both feb-13 beta).

Please use spoiler tags for your images.

Also, you are reporting about a previous beta in the current beta thread, which makes it hard for me to track down issues. Please report current bugs here, and older bugs in the other thread (same goes for all of you!).

Current beta God of Wealth (whatever the +2 stuff per specialist, 1f per 20 g) gives 3Faith2Prod per specialist, not 2faith2prod. Intended?

Like to try the new beta version.
After download. Can I just extract the files from all those '(1) Community Patch.zip ,(2) Community Balance Patch.zip...' and put them in '\CivilizationV\Assets\DLC\MP_MODSPACK_13-2_beta2\Mods' to replace the old one?

For these older version files '(2) Community Balance Patch (v 13)', '(6a) Community Balance Patch - Compatibility Files (EUI) (v 1)' ,these two can't be replaced by the new files because the little difference of name. So should I delete the older one and just keep the new one?

Any reason why you're not just using the installer instead of downloading every part manually? It completely fixes everything with just a few clicks on "Next".

On the topic of overriding existing files, you should never do that, each beta version is a new version and requires you to delete all old files (but the installer does that for you if you use it), the installer also clears your cache and moduserdata folders, otherwise you need to do that manually.

EDIT: For clarification, 'the installer' is the file called 'Community Patch Project.exe' in the download folder

Because the 'Community Patch Project.exe' install the files into 'My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS'. So the mod is just mod, can't auto load like DLC. After launch the game, I have to load the mod manually everytime. That's boring :( So one time trouble saves much times trouble.

I should delete the moduserdata folder ?! Thanks to remind that to me. :)

Yeah, my bad didn't read your post correctly. I have no idea if you can actually manually update the modpack like that, and the modpack is only updated with regular versions(afaik). So the only thing I can really say about this is that I know that the regular install works :D

Don't do that.

Hello,

It's been a while. Back to give the new Beta a whirl.
Last time I tried this mod I had issues with runaway tech. I was playing as Washington and had just entered the Medieval Era when I got a report that one of my enemies had just entered the Renaissance.

And I thought I was doing okay Tech wise. Has there been any insight into this or notice of it? Perhaps repairs/ adjustments?

Looking forward to the new version.

LOVE THE INSTALLER!

Started up no problems. About 50 turns in without any issue, no real dealings with the AI yet.

That's pretty much how my every game goes, some AI just completely rushes banking or chemistry, usually doesn't matter much.

I just lost all respect for you :D

Depends how you play. I actually out rushed AI by 8 techs on Emperor difficulty. In nutshell, AI Civ that's on second place regarding literacy is 8 tech behind me, others even more. So, yes it's possible to keep up pace with AI or even have a lead

Thanks for the advice.

It was randomly generated!

By a twist of fate the game I just started is Washington as well.
Shoshone, Germany, Iroquois and Arabia on the same continent as me.
So far it's a love fest.

Friend agreements with Shoshone, Iroquois and Germany.

Absolutely possible, I'm just saying that I usually don't, and even when I keep the pace with them I usually don't rush Renaissance era (unless I have "Way of transcendence").

You deserve each other, you should get Carthage and England in there as well.
