Hello all. I posted recently on the history thread about it's lack of, well, history (it's mostly statistics and records). So I propose a new branch, one that will study our people, our cities, our way of life; since the beggining until now, it will also make biografical studies of our leaders and people of outstanding positions. So, what do you think? I guess I need someone to second the motion.

I think it's an exellent idea, we need to conduct an indepth study of our cuture and way of life. Most importantly our glorious military history and the part that Asphinxia Province ha s played in it all!!

Great idea! I'm for it, too.

Great! so, who's gonna do it?

Thought you were volunteering, EA :D

I'm just wondering how to pronounce EA's name... :)
An Aztec and Greek name for the last 2 posts... ugh.. pronounciation nightmare. ;)

I'm just glad EA's name contains two words so I can reduce it to initials and not have to worry about spelling it right! :crazyeye:

hahahahahaha, well, I just didn't want to look to presumptous by nominating myself :) But I'll be more than honored to do it. Gonna need help though, maps, interviews, stories and the sort.

My name? well, it is aztec, it means holly water winds, but EA is just fine too. Kinda dificult to pronounce, :D

Well Donsig has already started a "True" history thread. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to pass the reigns on to you since he retired, but I don't like to jump to conclusions. So I'd double check with him first.

It would be nice to have one person devoted to creating an inventive event by event history. Esp. if you can make it dramatic, like the "in the palace" actions between the leaders and them with the citizens.

I like the aspect of studying the people, the way of life in our cities, and even the study of our Leaders. Donsig and Chieftess have done a great job of keeping us abreast in a "dramatical" sense. I also think a fresh point of view with a different angle would be well worth reading.

Great! I'll ask Donsig for his help and start writting right away, I've already recieved some files from Cyc, with a bit more help from the governors and people that have been here since the beggining. Who was the first mayor of the capital? is he still around? do you guys name your leaders?
Maybe I'll take a roadtrip around the republic, talk with different citizens, get the feel of every city u know?

PS I'm especially interested in the Domino Wars, since it looks like they were crucial to the development of the Republic.

The Domino wars were indeed a vital part of our early history, just as every conflict since then has helped to shape our identity and protect our people from aggression. To honor this rich military history and those who died to forge our nation, I propose that the city of Thebes be renamed Victory!
There is a poll to this affect.

Great! any interesting stories you'd like to share? have u been in any wars? ever held ofice? any good palace anectodes? maps? where do you live in Phoenatica? what's life like there?

I fought against the Americans and Egyptians troops in the Domino Wars before I became Military Leader, Charis (our first Military Leader) then promoted me to Colonel when made a good plan proposal for the war. And now I'm the General.

I used to live in Pharsalos, an unconnected city with 1 pop. Nice small town it was, with an oil derrick. On a nice hill, also. The Greeks who still lived there did get on my nerves.

On the palace, I thought that Alexander's head would look good on a pike there.
