New Civilizations

NO thanks, if only because peace keepers are rarely if ever used against a major nation. Also peace keepers aren't stronger than real troops in real life.

Alright. I just suggested that because I would find them very useful for those said reasons.

Although, I am now doubting whether peacekeepers would have hidden nationality or not. With hidden nationality, the AI would attack the peacekeepers, and as you are right about the peace keepers and other troops, let me propose instead: Peacekeeper - no hidden nationality, lower attack and defense than regular troops, but much cheaper, still has airdrop ablility. That way, they can blockade an agressor to a third party without declaring war on the agressor, and that agressor nation cannot get through. Much closer to real life. Although a problem with no hidden nationality is if you don't have a right of passage agreement with that third party.

I like the idea of the Mountie as a special Canadian unit. Which gave me an idea that I haven't heard before of units that could have a beneficial effect on city morale, like Buddhist monks or Christian priests. When the unit is in a city it would have a calming effect on the citizenry, providing another way to control your cities.

Just a thought.

Maybe they'll have completely custom civilizations (you know make your own civ) you choose the leader head, civ attributes etc

It would be nice to see an Aboriginal or Maori civ in Civ4

or Polynesians

I never thought Aboriginies by themselves were 'enough' to be a civ - maybe they could become Australia in the later ages and the whole civ would just be called Australia (or even down under ;) )

:D
Well I was thinking of a naition that occupied all islands from Indonesia (Malasya?) to Easter I. I think that its was a group of nations that can be considered to be their own civ. What would be a good name for them?

I think if there was enough room in the game I would split them into Indonesia and Polynesia. Indonesia has a very large population, and don't need to be grouped with anyone. Polynesia is different from them too, so they should be seperate.

However, if they were grouped together, I doubt finding a name to fit them both would be easy. How about the 'Nesians' (j/k)

Hello everybody!!This is my first post here!!

A good civilization to be in the CiV 4 is Brazil!!

Then they can create a wonder call "World Cup of Football", then Brazil can win more then any Civilization in the world. The Brazil leaders would be Pele and Ronaldo!!ahha

No without joke!!

They should include old civilization from South America and East Asia, i know that we are poor country that don't buy thousands of copy, but your old civilization contribute for world culture.

Brazil is 5 largest country and the world. the 9 economy.

And in the East Asia de Vietnam "destroy" americans and French, so they coulbd be military.

Gustavo Pereira
Brazilian, but at the moment i'm in Australia.

Do you mean as a south american civilization? Otherwise, The incas and Brazil are much, much different. And I assume there is room in civ4 for at least two south american nations ;)

Poland are a few I can think of that would fit in nicely offhand.

If canada were to be in the game their UU should be the peacekeeper to replace infantry. no attack power but incredible defense..

I think it would be Commercial expansionist because of the wide spaces.

HA! before the statute of Westminster Canada had no control over its foreign policy.

well I don;t agree with the peacekeeper idea but we should defenatly be commercial and expantionist and the leader should be TRUDEAU! not john a. mcdonald

I researched Pierre Trudeau once. ;)

There are definately enough European civilizations in Civ. Besides, having too many civs would just be confusing. We just need an Indonesian civ, an Oceanic civ, a few more African civs along with their own culture group (the Zulu are not Middle Eastern), and a few modern nations like Canada.

I'm sure we can find a better leader that we can all agree upon than Trudeau.
Or, even, if we must, not even Macdonald.

Hey Gustavope, benvindo to CFC!!!

There is only one problem with your suggestion, barbarians would always be called "argentines" and their leader "Maradona" would always beat Pele and Ronaldo!!! :goodjob:

@douche_bag: no offense, but saying Incas take place of Brazil would be as saying Navajos take place of Canadians.

I would have no problem with all four of them being in the game.

I would have a problem with all earth civs being there :D....

Is it even possible to name all earth civs?

I'd like to see all the current civ's plus an Oceanic civ, like the Philipines or the Aboriginees

While a few civilizations I've always wanted to see appeal to me (the Huns, the Hebrews, and most importantly i think, the Bantu) everyone can make a good case for a plethora of different civilzations, because the measure of greatness a civilization achieves is hard to define. However, as far as the game itself goes, it all seems a bit pointless to discuss new civs without first discussing how these civs would be different from each other. We've already run out of trait combinations, and Unique Units only go so far to create varied game-play. Hopefully Firaxis will sort this out, but I'd like to hear some suggestions about how to make these Civs we're all suggesting different from each other.
Just as an example, how about an Artistic trait? Maybe it increases citizen happiness?
Or, you could make different civs adapt better to different terrain. I know this has been done to a limited extent with the effect Agricultural has on desert, but what about making mountains produce food for civilizations like the Inca, the Greeks, or the Tibetans? Jungles allow extra shields for the Mayans?
What are your thoughts?
