Keep in mind, this won't be when it's available to download, it's when it's announced. If the contest ends then, I'd imagine it would be Korean time.

I just want to now for sure that they are going to release something and this is not a hoax. As long as I now that, I can wait a few weeks.

We don't actually know anything, we're picking safe bets based on the information we have. We know that someone in the past who's been accurate predicted this. We know that there are image files and achievements suggesting this will be the next DLC. Achievements have always predated announcement by a short period of time. We also know that the Korean distributor of the game has more or less promised that Korea will be in and they'll announce Aug 6.

We don't know for a fact that the Korean distributor knows what they're talking about or that Firaxis will announce anything soon. But it does seem a safe bet than Korea and the 7 Wonders of the World are next at some point.

seems right.. but no word from the official people at all...

:( I wish the DLCs were free, like Mongolia ... :(

I also hate the Scenarios, friggin impossible!

But nonethless I'm somewhat excited.. will there be patch as well with the release of the DLC?

there have been patches without dlcs before, so that's nothing new, but there haven't been any dlcs without patches yet. but even still, a patch a few days ago would still count for being released close enough to a dlc if it comes out sometime around the first half of next week.

I don't care as much as to how hard they are, but I hate that they are timed.

YOu know what, that's exactly their flaw.. time. without tiem you don't have plan your strategy for each turn.. before you even begin the scenario. without time, you could do everything at your own place.

Well, the Korean distributors are running a contest. They might not want to step on their toes.

Alternatively, the DLC is being released with the next patch, so it isn't even supposed to be announced for several months (I don't think this is likely, but you never know. How long did the Spain/Inca achievements appear before it was announced?).

Where do you see Aug 6th? On Korean Civ V website, it says the event will held between July 18th - Aug 2nd and they will announce the 91 selected winners on Aug 9th...Which is Aug 8th in USA. I assumed we wont have anything until Aug 9th Korean time, but if they are going to announce it on Aug 6th USA time like you said, then even better! :)

OK, I think something got lost in the re-posting of info over and over. Aug 9 Korean time would be what I meant had I the right info.

But there is a chance that they will announce who's the leader before Aug 9th...Hopefully...Let us pray.:)

Fair point. The cut off for the contest was Aug 2 so they have some wiggle room. Still, that steals a lot of their thunder.

So five days from now, on Tuesday, we should get the information. That would be great. I'm betting Korea will be the following:

Korea
Led by Sejong
UA: Industrious Thoughts -- All specialists generate science, can adopt conflicting social policies without losing the benefits of previous policies (like Rationalism AND Piety can both be active at the same time).
UU: Hwacha, replaces Catapult, does not need a turn to set up and bonus against units.
UU: Kobukson, replaces Trireme, stronger than normal trireme with bonus land bombardment.
