New DLC at August: Korea ()

I guess Arirang would work, it was around at that medieval time in Korean history, and it is a very recognizable tune.

I agree that there are some cities like Kabul and other Central Asian cities that should be added in the City States list, while removing some of them that are already in possession of some Civilizations, or soon to be new ones added into the Civilization list.

If Sumeria is a civ, obviously they wouldn't go down that route, but Ur would also qualify as an excellent choice for a cultural city state. As would Jerusalem (which I don't expect).

For all those that are saying that city names wont work because its taken, well thats not the case cause we know cities and such can be easily swapped/patched. (Removal of Copenhagen, and addition of Quebec City as an example)

Im leaning towards Hong Kong, Taipei or maybe Macau to replace Seoul.

Or even better, they somehow decide to make more CS's to be playable. (Only a wish)

Taipei would be controversial - China hates Taiwan and doesn't even recognize them as a state so it might hinder any Chinese sales of the game. Kinda similar reason they didn't put in Jerusalem I guess. That being said, I would like to see Taipei and Jerusalem.

Taipei

Carthage (if it's not to be included as a civ)
Kabul (more central Asian stuff)
Jerusalem (Israel isn't really worthy of being a major civ - they spent most of history being conquered by many many other empires, but I could see them as a city state)
Kinshasa (Third largest city in Africa, guys - 8 million people - and it puts something in the Congo area)
Lagos (second largest city in Africa - maybe)
Buenos Aires (3million people, certainly justified to be put in if Rio De Janeiro, Sydney and Quebec city can be in).

with Jerusalem I hope they put that in with a reintroduction of religion.

Macau is a city name for the Chinese empire in Civilization 5, but Hong Kong would be interesting. Taipei is out of the question as mentioned due to the Chinese government not recognizing it which would ultimately hinder the sales in China, and Fraxis is all about making the money.

Honestly, I'd want Jerusalem as the new cultural city state. Probably wont happen though.

(Really looking forward to the Korean DLC)

Jakarta would be another great idea, Indonesia needs some representation ASAP.

Theres already a few CS to that region, also Polynesia dlc?

Polynesia =/= Indonesia.

Indonesia is a South East Asian nation with cultual influences from India and the Middle East. It has a huge population of 250 million people, mostly muslims.

Polynesia in civ V is a bit of a blanket term for all Pacific islander people from Easter Island (6000km or more from Indonesia) to Papua New Guinea (which shares a land border with Indonesia), notably including the native Hawaiians and native New Zealanders (Maori).

The closest city states to Indonesia are Kuala Lumpur and Singapore - none of which are actually on an Indonesian Island (Kuala Lumpur is on the Asian mainland - Singapore is an island that is very close to the mainland).

It is August 8 where I live.
Nothing has been announced officially.

Are you in USA ShahJahanII? Right now Korea is 11:40PM August 8th. In their main Civ V website, it said they will announce the 91 winners of who guessed it right on Aug 9th Korea time, so it looks like probably later tonight for USA or tomorrow morning we will find out who will be the leader at least officially from Korea Civ V web.

Yes, East Coast of the USA.
My bad, I thought the Koreans were a day ahead of us Americans.
Right now it is 11:30 AM for me.
That is only 12 hours.
Then there is hope after all. :goodjob:
