  • Whoohoo!

[*]Eight new "Great Leaders", eight new Civs with specialized units for each.
    Yawn.

[*]New map features including airfields, outposts and radar towers.
[*]Two new terrain sets that allow players to customize their maps.
Hopefully that means we can make new map and terrain fetures....but I am not holding my breath...they might want to milk out another Xpac. ;)
[*]Additional interface enhancements like unit stacking and auto-bombard.
Sweet!!! I am guessing this is different then the current unit stacking. Sounds like it is in reference to units attacking when said in the same sentence as auto bomabrd.
[*]Complete game editor and scenario support, including feudal Japan and World War II unit packs, that will allow players to create scenarios from any time period.
Finally!
I don't know about you, but I am very excited about this expansion pack now!
But we have to wait until Fall?

great, but i´m afraid fall means xmas.

It could. Winter doesn't start until December 18th or so, right?

I'm already drooling.

Can remember when they were doing Sim Movement on Alpha Cenaturi. It worked great on a LAN, on the wilds of the internet it didn't work well.

but that was what the beta test was for to find that kind of problems.

-dances maniacally about the room-

Ahem.

The bits about new terrain features (airfields, etc.) and the two, TWO new terrain sets really got me hyped up for this release...........!

:D

Darn, I have to wait for the fall?

yeah, right, so they think everyone are complete idiots... they'll will release the rest of the game as an expansion pack.

waiting anxiously for a cracked version to come out, I won't give you any more money Firaxis!

:die!:

It doesn't look like Infogrames has slapped a price tag on the XP yet. I'm betting it's going to be about 30 clams.

We're suckers -- we'll pay.

what are terrain sets?
New graphics for trees, mountains, rivers, hillls, grassland, and other terrain types. That way you can pick a terrain set you like if you hate the default terrain graphics....

Even if you remove MP and scenario from the list, other goodies Firaxis will include in the expansion are enough for an expansion. I will be happy to pay (as long as it's not too expensive). :goodjob:

Also note the list may not be the complete list of features!

All I can say is you boys are mighty damn optimistic. After the release last fall(for xmas) and the severe lack of playtesting by firaxis/ infolames, what in the world makes you think the expansion pack will be any better at its release? Hey personally I hope it kicks some a$$ but I gotta wonder what features wont be ready/ enabled/ useful/ or just plain out cancelled. Ill be there shelling out the 29/39/49 $ that everyone else will, But I just hope I'm not betatesting for them again.

I should probably give my friend who tested the game a call, although I sincerely doubt he'd be able to tell me much. :)

I bet
Spain
Norway
Turkey
Mongolia
are sure guesses, but what about others?

Umm, if you took out the MP & scenario, I don't think you have much left. If they don't change something about how civ abilities are assigned, we can already make "new" civs. That just leaves a few map features, terrain sets, & stuff they typically include in patches. Not what I would pay for typical expansion packs these days.

I am still hoping that there are more surprises to help improve the game strategically & provide more options during the game.

I am very excited about all the stuff they're putting into the expansion. I will definitely pay to get this. It's sounds well worth the money. Finally, I'll be able to play the game with my wife.

I wonder what new editor/scenario creation stuff they're adding? Sounds exciting. New terrain sets, 8 new civs, new interface controls for stacking/bombard, etc. Wow, sounds like a lot of great things.

Yeah, I'll pay to get this one. :)

As for beta testing the current release: oh well, I've gotten my $40 worth of entertainment out of it. I'm not one bit sorry I bought it before they "finished" it. It's been fun; it's been great. And I'm still having fun. So there. :p
