New Expansion Speculation Thread

The Switch release happened a few days ago... Yesterday, I started a Civ game as France... I had a strange dream about Hungarian first look... And then this mysterious video appears here? Coincidence?

Probably.

This feels like the proverbial calm before the storm. I'm expecting this tranquility to be shattered by a disaster... Vesuvius style.

Edit: this seems like the "wheel" teaser from last year. I think the strong Switch marketing ended with its release before the weekend. I thought a teaser wouldn't come until tomorrow or Wednesday, but I think this is it. Wonder how much information we'll actually get.

Screen isn't moving down by the way, on YT you can look back and confirm there's no change.

Civ VI and R&F screens had different landscapes, wonders and eras represented. I wonder why this one has only a huge modern city.

=> new CivCity Game?

City builder through the ages?

INSTABUY!

The last one was only Rome though.

Ah yeah you're right. Kinda fun game but didn't manage to really stick.

No, what I want is a city builder like SimCity or Cities:Skylines, only you start in ancient times and move through the ages. There exists no such game in the world. I've looked for it. The closest is SimCity 3000 which starts in 1900 and gradually unlocks more buildings up to the Fusion Reactor in 2050 or something like that.

That's a cool concept. I feel like there would have to be simulated outside events happening that could shape your city though. Invasions, waves of immigrants, etc.

What? CivCity? No, that was a mediocre city builder from ~10 years ago.
Ah, yeah, I remember, CivCity: Rome it was called, I believe.

What was that mobile game, though, I can't remember. Can anybody help me out here? Sid Meier's Civ World or something?
Edit:
Indeed, it was called Civilization World

There are kickstarter projects for city builder where you move through time. Neolithic for example, where you play from the stone age to the bronze age. But until modern times? I fear it would lose a lot of substance if you had that long a timespan. But something like 10th up to 17th century might work well.

Yup. Perhaps if you play well enough you can even become the capital of an empire, or something like that.

Also, it's past 20 CET and nothing happened...
