[R&F] New Features Video

Side note:

This is the week they decided to "take a week off from First Look videos" and less than 7 hours from the normal "First Look" time, we've now confirmed all 3 of the remaining Civs and their leaders.

Nice work, Firaxis. Well played.

It was a strange choice in my opinion. Perhaps next week they will release the game to certain Youtubers for early access since we basically know everything now.

Just hope members on this board do not slam Firaxis the day week and month the expansion comes out. If you do not care for 6 as it is with all possible content Mods and DLC’s then a few new changes is not going to make Civ 6 a better game for you. For me playing since Civ 1, I love the graphics and creativity and history behind it all. Always wanting the next expansion and or next new version meaning Civ 7.

Brew God

Oh I love these forums... before lunch (in my time zone of course) we were at "Inca or Mapuche" and maybe the first signs of Italy in the video... time to scroll back and catch up! (Still not 100% on anything but interesting stuff.)

I've just got back to work, and there seems to be A LOT to dig through both within and outside the video. The video, in general, is, of course, already reiterating what we have known already. Although we did get to see the new alliance system (which looks great) and the emergencies (which is okay in my opinion; didn't really expect it to give you any grand bonuses or anything like that).

On the Mapuche/Inca... I hope it's the latter. Let's have some staples first before we get to the special entrees. Just call in the Chilean government if it is Mapuche.
And what's this Scottish civ I hear? If Scotland is in the game then it would be a pleasant surprise... but reduces the chances of Italy being in the expansion. :(

The new leader could also be Polynesian (I certainly hope so).

Has anyone seen those Hawaiian fuzzy-looking flower necklaces? Not the ones with the big flowers, but it looks really fuzzy. I think they have an equivalent for a headband too, which, if the right color, would look pretty much like the headband of this new leader.
I'm having trouble finding the right picture for it, but here's something in that direction...

And blue would be a reasonable color choice for a Polynesian civ.

Some good points. Shades of blue would certainly work for an ocean faring Civ.

While all this sounds reasonable though, I don’t think they are going to leave South America with only one Civ through the first expansion pack.

OHhh my that would make my day!!

I turned out to be wrong, and it made my soul hurt.

It's Mapuche (South America), Scotland (Mel Gibson), and Zulu
But it's only the chinese leak/scotland for Zulu, right? There is still hope! *believes*

No, Scotland's palace art showed up in the world editor patch files. There's a thread about it. It's nice art.

Be prepared for bagpipes, kilts, and Highlander memes.

Dammit, the Cree (and thus probably the Mapuche and Brazil also) have those damned Mesoamerican jaguar helms!

This is a little disappointing. At least they have unique city art.

It’s also weird, I notice those pikemen have beards. Correct me if I’m wrong, but that wasn’t exactly the Aztec (or any other Native culture I’m aware of) fashion...

The art assets do point towards Scotland which does pretty much confirm the Zulu as well.
