New Leader Hint! (Looks like Shaka)

I wouldn't be surprised, just to piss us off more, the Zulu's UA is to conspire with the already crazy barbarians against you. Just to twist the knife a little further, courtesy of Firaxis.

You guys are fooling yourselves. Thats obviously the leader of the Inuit civilization hunting some whales in Africa.

It's Shaka, we all know that from the visual cues.

Now lets hope they reveal somethigng a little bit more interesting soon. Love me some Zulu but it doesn't excite me in the same way somethign new would.

I'm not saying it's not Shaka, but "confirmed" means that it's officially been announced, or that the game has been released and he's there. Seeing a shadow that most people think is him isn't any kind of confirmation in the slightest.

LoL, notice the two "winks" before the band started playing at the end of my statement............sarcasm doesn't work on the inturwebz too well:lol:

yeah what if the elusive "tomhawk" axemen barbarian warrior brute lookin fellas in that other screenshot are actually one of the Zulu's UA to hide their nationality, and not a native american civ like has been discussed......:crazyeye:

indeed, hence why I have yet to update the info post

The image alone does not confirm the Zulu, but the fact that Firaxis offers it as a "hint" suggests it has to be the Zulu. They wouldn't have a "hint" for a mysterious civ that hasn't appeared before which could so easily be mistaken for one that has been in every game before. So if the image doesn't mean it's the Zulu, that it's a "hint" does.

Welcome back, Shaka! I can't wait to conquer the world with you! :spear:

Right, with so much hype about the Zulu...I am glad they are finally bringing that speculation to a close. They have to add Shaka. After all the "Scramble for Africa" scenario would just feel odd without him, to say the least.

i'm going to go out on a limb and suggest it is a leader that no one has thought to mention yet:

it's shaka

Without Zulu in any completed main civ game, The fan will cause riot for sure.
Fans would also do so if Firaxis troll them with that picture.

As I started at Civ4 BtS, and Zulu rarely in my game. I am not quite familiar with him.

But I pretty sure we will cross sword spear with him in BNW, and I will know who is Shaka.

I think we're getting two African civs for the scenario, so I'm guessing Zulu and Somalia (Dervish State was awesome, look it up)

They were cool but surely the Moors would get in before them. I'm always stunned that the Nth Africans that took and held much of Spain for centuries haven't been in yet. That part of Africa is barely covered (Carthage controlled some of the far North Coast but certainly not the kind of land the Moors & Berbers did.

I also agree that the Moors/Berbers/whatever you want to call them are one of the most overlooked civ candidates. To be honest, I might even go as far as to argue they deserve a place in a future, vanilla version of Civ.

However, I think their chances of getting in are almost nil, due to the fact that in every iteration of Civ they've always been lumped with the Arabs (you can look at the city-list to see that), which is rather sad. Other than the fact that many Arabs and many Berbers are (or were) desert-dwelling nomads, they're still two very distinct groups, with an interesting history of interaction, peaceful or hostile.

Last year, they gave us an image as a hint for Sweden and at least one person thought it was Shaka because they thought they saw a tent.

Yeah, but that was one nut's theory, while the other 99% of us correctly believed it was Sweden.

Not to mention they only showed one small part of the picture at a time, meaning that the first few days it could have really been anything to us, since all we saw was a brown blob.

That was just insanely stupid on FB.
First hint: ÏTS GOTTA BE PORTUGAL!!! ITS PORTUGALL!!!" (few days earlier a picture was released with Lisbon as a CS)
Later hint: a white hand shows up "IT IS ZULU!!! ZULU!!!"

*Sigh*

Anyways, happy to hear that there will most likely be at least one African civ =) maybe I'll give it a shot with BNW and start a game with all the warmongers to see how it will develop =)

My prediction: It won't. Everyone will be so busy trying to kill each other they will completely forget their infrastructure.
