New Mafia Hosting Queue

First one. I guess I could still host it with Visor's permission. Maybe.

A Town Divided

Host: NinjaCow64
Type of Game: 20
Number of Players: Small
First time host: No, still fairly nooby though.
Progress: 50%, theme and concept are done, balance and role PMs are coming next.

There once was a town inside a nation. Unfortunately for this town, the nation erupted in civil war. The people in the North of the town vouched for one side and the people in the South of the town for another. The Northerners in the town greatly outnumbered the Southerners. However, the Southerners have been causing trouble. The mayor decided to get rid of the Southerners once and for all. However, they're not going down without a fight...

******

Okay, this is going to be a fairly simple Mafia game with a twist. There are going to be a Southern Mafia of 2 people, however, there will also be ~5 "anti-townie" Southerners. They share the same goal of the Mafia (well, similar, as the Southerners can't win without killing all the townies) however they do not know who the Mafia are. The Mafia kill can also accidentally target them as well. The Mafia do not know who the anti-townies are as well. I might give a few power roles and a second lynch to balance it a bit, I'm still working on the specifics. I'm not sure if anyone has done something like this, but if they have, I would appreciate a link.

Thoughts?

Where we last left off....

The Imperial Senate, 1 week later.

Emperor Palpatine grinned an evil grin, the only type of grin he has ever grinned. He looked at his two compatriots, one on either side of him, both of whom were more than a little disconcerted by the Emperor's evil grin he was grinning. They were two very different men, and one was not even a human at all - a trait the other looked down upon. One was an old, gentlemanly bigot; the other a young, horny (you know, the horns on his head), tatooed beast of a man. However, both set aside their differences as a sign of respect for their master, the greater good, and for the Sith as a whole. More importantly, they were stronger united, and had a common goal: eliminate all opposition. The three and the freak Grievous had accomplished the task, although Grievous had not been much help, dying almost immediately after a failed attempt to attack someone. Those who had opposed their power had been disposed of with surprising ease. As a result, today would be a groundbreaking day in the history of the Republic.

Palpatine gave a nod to each man - Dooku first, then Maul - and rose to his feet, calling for silence.

Palpatine: "Ladies and gentlemen of the Senate, I call you here today to reveal some delightful news. The ones seeking my destruction, to stop my attempts to salvage the Republic, have been put back in their place. Without them blocking the path to justice and freedom, I can now do what I have been waiting to do for a very long time.

Palpatine: "The old Republic is no more! The corruption and inefficiency which were its trademarks are no more! In its place stands a new government, a just government devoted to bringing peace and prosperity to the galaxy. The Sith Imperium has risen! No more will you be ruled by corrupt politicians and intolerant despots, but by those who care for the needs and rights of the people! We are an Empire ruled by the majority! An Empire ruled by a new Constitution! An Empire of laws, not of politicians! An Empire devoted to the preservation of a just society. Of a safe and secure society! We are an Empire that will stand for ten thousand years!"

The room is filled with overwhelming applause. After the roar of the crowd died down, Palpatine continued.

Palpatine: "To ensure the continuing success of the Empire, I reluctantly accept the duty of guiding it through its formative years, making sure that we do not deviate from what we hold dear to us. The Senate is now the Imperial Senate! No longer will it be a place for selfish politicians acting on their own agendas, hindering progress, but a place where the people's voice is heard and progress is not restricted, but made!"

Another thunderous roar sweeps the new Imperial Senate.

But not all were cheering. Or, at least, not sincerely. There were some who had resolved to bring down this new Sith Imperium and restore the galaxy to actual freedom, instead of this new oppressive dictatorship. No sooner had the new government been officially brought into the fold had the revolution begun. These revolutionaries and rebels in the crowd knew what they had to do. Just as they would not cease until the Imperium was no more, the Imperium would hunt them down, and it would not cease until the threats to its existence had been exterminated. Even if this generation of revolutionaries failed, it was only a matter of time before a new group arose to challenge their oppressors.

Oppression breeds rebellion.

PLAYERS: 35

HOSTS: choxorn and Zack

STATUS: [insert middling percentage here]

DESCRIPTION: The long-awaited sequel to Star Wars Mafia: A New Hope. Players will belong to one of seven different factions, each consisting of five players. Factions range from good to neutral to evil, and everywhere in between.

I call chaotic neutral.

Not really that embarrassing, it would be an accurate description of me in the last game. Guess it was a Freudian slip showing my ego. :D It needs all the help it can get, after my display in the last NOTW...

jht, is your only fault your excessive modesty?

I'm replacing the Starcraft game with a normal theme role madness game. It just wasn't coming together unfortunately.

On a happier note, I would like to add another game to the queue! Of mine.

Portal Mafia

Host: NinjaCow64 GLaDoS
Type of Game: Large
Number of Players: More than 20, less than 50. I haven't worked that out entirely.
First time host: No, still a noob though.
Progress: Just a few role ideas, so probably 5%

It's Portal. And a Mafia. Do you really need more information?

Visorslash has plans for a Portal Mafia on the org.

Stupid site detroyed my post. Sigh. Go ahead and host your Portal Mafia, I won't be hosting mine until later in the year anyway. Mine's also a small game and not exactly faithful to the canon.

Anyway, for a game which I will be hosting on either TWC/Org/CFC (undecided as of yet):

Age of Kings Mafia

Host: Visorslash
Type of Game: Large
Number of Players: 50
First time host: No
Progress: 20%

Setting to come later:

Information: There will be 50 players, 5 factions, ten for each faction. They will be 5 of the civilisations from Age of Kings (AoE 2, the game which this is based off). There will be three kinds of victory, alignment, factional and class. Factions is separated into the 5 different faction victories, alignment victory is self explanatory, and class victory is relegated into lower, middle, and higher class, of which certain roles and perks belong to certain classes. I have a few ideas for class victory which I will design later when it comes to balancing it. Alignment victory is self explantory. There are of course personal goals.

Roles may be upgraded (undecided), and items will be up for grabs.

Thoughts, opinions?

EDIT: Got the factions and the basic roles done. The Role PM's will be easy to write as well. Now working on balancing and role power ideas.

I'm in no matter where you host it. That was my childhood computer game. :)

:agree:

Damn, I had some good times with those games. Good 'ol Celts and their Road Woad Warriors. Or the Byzantines and their awesome Catarphracts. It's just a shame that AOE III was so bad. [insert long rant about the lack of quality in AOE III here.]

@Visor: Do you still want me to put it on the queue? Also, I'm taking A Town Divided off the large queue and downsizing it to a small game, it would work just as well as a beta test for the concept, possibly better as I wouldn't have to shoehorn vigilantes in to ensure the games doesn't go on forever. And I'm re-submitting Portal Mafia to the queue with Visor's permission, it won't be loyal to the canon either but hey.

Chuck in it the queue for now, sure. And go ahead with Portal Mafia. I'll bring out a basic role PM sometime in the next few days. I also plan to do cinematics (with the executions, etc) with the scenario editor, which should be pretty easy, I just need video recording software like Fraps, etc.

I played so many games as the Byzantines on islands. They become freaking amazing once you reach the Imperial Age and suddenly have an army of everything in the game. Siege Weapons? Who needs them when I have Cannon Galleons turning your islands into rubble? :p

Play rivers, all you have to do is build a three-tiered stone wall with a triple gate on each ford. And then start piling in palisades to stop the incoming enemy troops. Trebuchets!!!
