New Natural Wonders

Fountain of Youth can be salvaged sort of. The graphic looks like a little waterfall, so just rename it to an actual famous waterfall. Then I would remove the happiness bonus and just let it keep it's ability to give a free promotion to any unit that walks next to it (which is the most interesting and powerful thing about the wonder, though a free +50% heal rate to all your units might be too powerful, so you'd probably have to mod the promotion too).

Same goes for Potosi, but I didn't change that one because I thought it was a good inclusion. :D

Thanks, this goof will be easily fixed now.

Can I renamed the thing to Victoria Falls, too?

El Dorado
+5 Culture, +500 Gold to the first person to discover

Gee this sure belongs in a balanced game strategy game. Waaaay to big of a bonus early game for spawning close to something.

Does it give a free promotion or does it only heal twice as fast when any unit is next to it (and when the unit moves away is back to normal healing)??

I havent been able to try the patch as of yet, so i'm confused over this freebie. Does it apply to every unit that goes past or only the first (which normally would be a scout or maybe warrior so not so bad).

Wait, is this a joke?

Wait, is this a joke?

No it is not. Given how the game is currently going, there going to make an African scenerio with Prestor John in it :)

Honestly it's not the realism that made me thought it was a joke.

Erm.. 10 happiness? 500 free gold? Well, looks like I know what I'm changing first after I fix the mod to be compatable with the new version.

Prester John's a fairly obscure reference. If they include that, I'd be impressed ;)

Any unit that steps into a tile adjacent to the wonder gets the +50% heal rate promotion. This promotion is permanent and stays with the unit even when it leaves the adjacent tile and for the rest of the game.

Basically a way overpowered ability on top of the already overpowered +10 Happy.

And it makes you have a silly ritual where you have to make all your units visit it. I'm just gonna remove it altogether I think.

I'm not playing National Treasure Civ am I?

So strange, even that is in.
Market'ing wise, i guess gold rush to the Klondike wasn't ecologically sound enough to integrate either.
Far from me to even try denying Immortality isn't (somehow) a healthy subject in today's genetically altered (by cafeine + whatever your poison is) Zombies' conversation... but, if you stand near a phone boot down the street overthere you may get a call from heaven knows where too.
Promotions, i had to work for.
Sometimes, people get lucky though.

Someone please tell me this is a joke... 500 gold? +10 happiness? For the dumb luck of starting next to a magic uber tile? Yikes. Reminds me of ivory -> Statue of Zeus in Civ3 Conquests, and that was *BAD*.

This is supposed to be a strategy game, right?

You - will - all - need - it - and - more.
As soon as you hit this wall;

- Someone else got it!

Quoting the patch notes here...

Everything below that line.

Oh. My. God.

Civ became some sort of fantasy - sci-fi comedy. Civilization advances from mythological Eldorado to future Giant Death Robots. I will stop right here because the rest of what I want to write about Firaxis is anything but constructive.

lol, +5 culture and 500 gold is like a free settler and stonehenge, just from random luck.
+10 happiness is like THREE hanging gardens.

I wonder if there is any code inserted to avoid civs to spawn next to these two things?
Seems to be pretty much game-breaking to have them in the vicinity of either the first or the second city.

I think these new natural wonders must have been added just so we'd want to buy spain, for max exploitation.

Exactly, protested that 500 gold already in another thread. I was going to test the new patch at immortal to see how difficult it was, but had to start over after getting a game changing 500 gold at turn 7. And seems fountain of youth is even more over powered... If there ever was talk about competitive multiplayer this surely puts a stop to that nosense...

Is the target market for ciV really the kind of people who get all excited about some fantasy themed overpowered fluff thrown at them?
