The game is unpaused, and the turn has flipped. I have resigned Imp Knoedel's civ to AI after making sure the AI couldn't do any moves, so he will reclaim it this turn. He should not have been impacted by what happened as there is a build queue in place, and the scout moves were also queued.

Ha, I knew it was wise of me to queue everything on my very first turn for just such an eventuality. And the voices in my head called me mad!

Edit: I think I might have done it again. Old habits are so hard to break.

Just go back in and get your civ and then exit by Main Menu. Eventually it will become a force of habit. Even when playing SP games I always exit via main menu.

Basically what exit to desktop does is leave your connection open and doesn't close it properly, which is actually a software error that should never have been released like it was, but we have a simple work around. But remember when you play a PBEM when you finish your turn it saves the game to be sent and you are back to the main menu, so it is not that dissimilar to finishing a PBEM turn.

I can certainly understand that!

When I finish playing my turn, the first 'temptation' is to go for the "exit to desktop"! But (so far) I've prevented my subconscious from doing that but... it's a real danger as I do it almost all the time when finishing my turns in PBEM's!!!

Meanwhile, I've registered at civstats but got no email (not even in the junk email)! I think I might not need it anymore (the play this game every day is inprinted in my brain) but something does not seem to be working properly there... it's probably me (that is not working properly).

Looks like there's something amiss with the server as the best I can manage is to connect to it and the game just hangs.

First try it did let me choose Portugal before locking but on the next couple of attempts I only got as far as connecting to the host with nothing further happening.

Urgh! With how active a modding community we have I'm surprised nobody has created a fix for this issue yet.

For the record, this time I finally did remember to exit to main menu for once.

Fortunately for all of us that was a typo, for I did exit to the main menu.

I did but they were being sent to my spam folder. You might want to want to check that if you haven't

I have checked my spam folder and they're not showing up there either.

Same here. I'm not getting any and they aren't going to my spam folder either. Would be nice if I got some but not the end of the world if they aren't being sent.

But I've got it in my head, so the email would be a "nice to have", not a "must have".
