One question about the map: Do you let the south (tunisia) away? It would look odd without (cause sicilia goes down there), but it just don't makes sense to include them :) ! Same in the north. What about France, Switzerland? The problem is the map? How do you want to solve it?

But it looks really really great! Go on like this. You have my admiration. mitsho

Modena, Parma and Tuscani must be in locked alliance with Autria, because they were allies all this time. As a matter fact they were governed for the LORRAINE-HABSBURG royal house, a minor branch of the Austria's royal house.

And by the terms of the peace of Villafranca, when Piedmont acquired Lombardy, the rulers of Tuscany, Modena, and Parma were to be reinstated. You know family matters:king:

Are you gonna include a civilization for San Marino and Malta? I hope so, it can give more flavor to the scenario.

And it will be a non-playable civilizations of course.

As more civilizations you have the better, because can simulate the real italian confusion in that historical period.

RTF, you're making all these beautiful cities :) what are you doing about the five culture city group limit??

I think it would be cool to have switzerland in the map because it was once a part of Piedmont...and it would be nice conquering it back :D

Actually, Switzerland never had anything to do with Piedmont (Piemonte).
The northern (French- and German-speaking) cantons were independent since the Dark Ages.
The southernmost and Italian-speaking Ticino canton was a "gift" by Emperor Frederick Redbeard to the Swiss, rewarding them for their help in defeating the Lombard League (actually Milano + satellite communes).

Cavour: he was the Prime Minister and the man who modernized Piedmont, taking it out of the "Middle Age" to become a modern and relatively powerful European country. Therefore he can be ALL the advisors :-) , expecially the Domestic, Foreign and Trade!

Ciao

He, Ticino wasn't a gift. Much swiss blood was spilt in all these battles against Milano conquering the Gotthard. I don't have all the names in mind, but they surely weren't a gift. But of course, it was accepted by the emperor. But the swiss armies conquered it and defended it by great loss. :)

Oh, some new opinion! Great, great!

@Startaff:

Yes, Camillo was the greatest Prime minister of Italian kingdom and I'll use as foreing, trade and science, I think. For other, I think that we can use also other italian patriots and the most important were Garibaldi and Mazzini; other ideas are welcome.

@Oz:

I have decided to use all culture group and to create only great capital (the already made): smallest states (Parma and Modena) have smallest capital (cities and no metros), so the problem is solved.

@Metacomet:

For now, Malta and S.Marino will be out, because Malta was too far from italian politics and S.Marino is too smallest.
Modena, Parma and Toscana not must be locked with Austria: on 1848 its soldiers combatted with Piemonte against Austria: if kings are half-austrians, peoples were italians and wanted to be unified in an italian country, surely not under Austrian control.

@Mitsho:

Tunisia is on the map, but I haven't inserted cities. Same thing for France and Switzerland... I can insert the civs and use LM territories as insuperable.

Some precision: the only civs presented on Italy on XIX century was:
- Sardinia kingdom (Piemonte)
- Lumbardy-Veneto kingdom (Austria);
- Ducate of Modena;
- Ducate of Parma;
- Arcducate of Tuscany;
- Papal State;
- Two Sicily kingdom;
- S. Marino.

Not fiction, but history. :)

On this scenario the only playable civ is Piemonte (the leader of italian unification).

Finally, I have found a site about Italian uniforms: if someone can help me to do more of them...

So, I got a bit distracted. Which civs are in the scenario now? the italian civs of course. but beside? 'tunisia (Ottoman Empire again, I'm not sure?), Switzerland, France and Austria, just to fullfill the map?

I'm sorry but I disagree with you because only a minority had the sense of be italian back in 1848. It's true that soldiers from Modena, Parma and Toscana were in the so call Italian Army. But a lot of soldiers from this areas were fighting with the austrians.

The so call Italian Army was principally a piamontese army. Ask the people from Sicily if they were italinas in 1848:eek:
