New Unit: French Leclerc MBT 02/07/04

Ripptide, i apologize to you i did not mean to insult you. Did not know you were a chopper pilot. I was just disgusted at the insult to the American dead who have earned it through their ultimate sacrifice.

So again i apologize to you as it was not meant to be anything against you or Canada.

John, if you read this would you please remove the CMH?

Thank you if you do.

Cheers Thorgrimm

no harm no foul :) . BTW, not a chopper pilot, I'm a Sgt. that works with them (gawd help me). I understand the sentiment and am sure if you explain it as such to John, he'd be more than happy to remove it

I was thinking about giving you the highest medal from belgium, but I couldn't find any with google :(
Anyway, seeing as how this is a French tank, perhaps it should be a French medal anyway ;)

:wavey: Hello Thorgrimm,

you are right, ripptide is no chopper pilot and i´m not the american President :nono:.

I have no right to decorate anyone with ANY medal :( !

But dear Thorgrimm, Civilization 3 is a game and all crazy things i do here, its not for real. If i start a tank rush against russia tomorrow, don´t expect to see anything on CNN. In some game simulations such as Gunship or Falcon 4.0 i´ve earned many medals, i´m afraid not for real .

Never mind, i respect your opinion and tomorrow on 4th July is your Independance Day, so I´ll replace the MoH with the german Eisernes Kreuz. You should know, i love the Americans as our brothers.

And if ripptide or Bebro or somebody else does another damn fine unit after this weekend, he will get medals over medals o.k?!

This seems familiar...
I think I've seen this already done before. Is this an update or did someone else make one?

Great job either way, as always Ripptide. :goodjob:

Yes there was a unit made by Boulboulgadol .
You can find it here:

And :goodjob: to ripptide . I really love this unit.

John, from the bottom of my heart i thank you for taking down the CMH. If i seemed to go overboard, i apologize for it.
And since my father came from Dresden, I also consider the Germans my kin. :)
I have deep respect for all warriors who defend their people from what they perceive as the enemy. Even if they stand opposed. :D

:nuke: Cheers Thorgrimm :nuke:

Thorgrimm, apology of course accepted. Maybe i have not enough thougt about the signification of the CMH. :wallbash:
I will promise you, not to decorate someone with the Congressional Medal of Honor again. :salute:

But i will award, the great unit designers here, in form of medals (yes, also american medals such as silver star). My comments should be a bit different from the standards such as "good unit, nice unit". The guys here are working hard and totally for free. I think we must be very grateful (especially if they made a unit i have requested ;) )

I hope you don´t want to whack me :hammer: for that. :hatsoff:

:thanx:

John, no i will not whack you if you use the silver star, :D as they are handing those out by the bucket now, so it has lost it's meaning.

And yes i agree the unit creators do deserve an award. Here is a suggestion
for a medal:

The Presidential Medal of Freedom, medal awarded annually to individuals selected by or recommended the Distinguished Civilian Service Awards Board. Recipients of the medal are those who have made outstanding contributions to the security or national interest of the United States or to world peace, or those who have made a significant public or private accomplishment.

And to be honest, the unit creators bring joy to a lot of people around the planet, and IMO they are making contributions to world peace, and private accomplishment. As they contribute of themselves, for no gain, to enrich the lives of others. This medal is more fitting for that role. :)

Below is the medal.

Ripptide,
antoher fantastic armor unit.
YES I second that Chieftain too,
BUT PLEASE don't forget the other fine British armor the Centurion.

That will make the British armor upgrades perfect after WW2 units.

I have the pic of this medal just downloaded. Maybe there is somebody in the next time here around in this forum who will earn it :D. Now i have a whole collection of medals and the better the unit, the higher the award ;) .

Really, a nice MBT unit

:goodjob: & Good thing to see sometimes at CFC that example of tolerance & international communication.
Thanks people to made my morning so happy about real world.

Opps lol i was looking at the first page as the end  lol, well great unit! your tanks just get better and better.

I will second that Thor's reaction was a bit foolish, in fact it was more than a bit, there is no need for that. Its a picture of a medal- i mean come on... your reaction would be a little more realistic if the medal was actuly given to him.

John's enthusiastic thank you was just out of excitement for a new unit, im sure that ripptide--as he said--appreciate's john's input on this awesome new unit.

We all have our opinion's--if you don't like what he put there, you dont have to, just keep it to youreself and enjoy the rest of your day :D no one forces you to come here and see this.

Evidently Shucker, you are yet another American who has no idea of the concept of honor and respect, and the price that was paid for you to be able to show your ignorance.

Well considering that RT also said that he could understand Thors views....

I can appreciate Thors view of the CMH. As with any honor it should be reserved for an appropriate reason.

Olixas, it was nothing against you, my grief was with Corn Shucker and his lack of respect for the slain of his own countrymen. :)
I apologize if you thought it was directed in your direction.

Is it only me who thinks this entire argument is right out silly? Please stop threadjacking :(

Yeah that is always the thinking of people who have no concept of honor. Keep your nose out of it, and it might.
