New Unit Series: MP40 9/20/09

New series featuring the MP40. To start here is my Kriegsmarine which some have been anticipating. I hope to include Fallschirmjager, Gebirgsjager and SS units in this series as well.

Erm, superb unit. And I don't want to critizise that much. However, no soldier would have hold the weapon at the magazine. It would crack the gun.

ps. @Adler: The MP40 is not held at the magazine. There is a handguard just above it into which the mag is inserted.

Well. I'm thinking I may do a Kriegsmarine with camo. That way he will look more like a combat unit and a little less like a parade unit. Maybe the white shirt wasn't such a great idea after all?

Thank you everyone for the kudos. Now that I have the basic animations done I should be able to whip out a few MP40 units reasonably quick.

I like the white shirt, but I think it may have been better with a rifle for early what if marines (like WWI).

WINTER, if you have a careful look on the picture, he has the hands on the magazine and not the handguard. That's why I said that.

Steph, Kriegsmarine marines were in action to take the British Channel islands and in the Med, too. (Not to speak about the units used in the last fights.)

Last critic: The so called Deutscher Gruß was not used in the Kriegsmarine very much until the plot in 1944 failed. And even then it wasn't popular.

OT: Also, even when firing blanks, don't let the barrel touch your bare skin. Even after you fire a short burst.

I heard our gruppenfuhrers(spelling?) skin sizzling from about 15ft away. Of course the swearing quickly confirmed it. But he was quick thinking enough to do so in German.

Deutscher Gruß? You mean the Heil Hitler salute? I didn't use a Deutscher Gruß for this unit. If you notice, his fidget is drinking water and his victory is a "yahoo" motion.

As far as his grip, I guess I can adjust that a little in the Attack animation but it should be fine for the default and fun animations.
