but WWW (Winter's Wonder World) will contain this beauty for sure- just need to think about which civ to give this too as a flavour unit... the fictive native ship is also in and will replace the caravel for all american civs- any ideas what this could be, anyone ??

The first one looks arabic, as already stated. The emblems on the second look Native American to me.

I love it. once i get my computer back, and can play civ, i'll use the version i like best as a med. civ caravel :GOODJOB:

The version #3 is done

Incredible units aaglo. :) All your ships are top class. Really impressive.:goodjob:

nice mediterranean pirate ships.. ideal for replacing the privateer for the Arabs, etc!

good job BTW

For everyone's edification, a ship identified as a Xebec ( http://pirateshold.buccaneersoft.com/pirate_ships.html ) "[A] three masted, square rigged on foremast, and lateen on main and mizzen, shallow draft, frequently used by 18th and 19th century corsairs in the Mediterranean."

I'll use the Corsair Ship as a Xebec just for the hell of it.

And yes, those are definantly French flags, those are those silly gold flowers or whatever the French use. Those flags were used as the official French flag and standard of Louis XVII. They were replaced by the tricolor during the revolution.

BTW, fantastic units Aaglo, it's hard to decide which to use because they are all so great.

:yeah:

What mobilize said. The french flag (when it was kingdom) had those golden lilies on blue background. And my guess is that the flag shown in that xebec is the french navy flag (4 segments)... but I'm not sure though.

The French naval flag pre-1792 was white with gold fleurs-de-lys.

I've looked at crwflags.com FOTW site and I couldn't find the flag used on the Xebec. It looks much like the Kingdom of France flag but with the white cross, I guess it could be a naval flag, or a merchant flag.
