I haven't seen any threads pertaining to UU's, so what do we think they'll be?

I'd like to see some sort of super caravel for the Dutch. (What else would De Gama sail in?!)

I believe the Assyrian UU is supposed to be some kind of Horseman or Chariot. I like the 2.2.2 Horseman idea.

The Dutch will obviously have some kind of boat.

I doubt the dutch will be anything other then a scenario civ

I'll bet you money that you're wrong. The Dutch are a very important civ that had a colonial empire that rivaled other European nations of the day. I'm betting they'll be Commercial and Seafaring.

We already know :

- Incan : scout
- Maya : javelineer
- Hittites : chariot (3 men)
- Sumer : warrior (Enkidu)

the pike could be a Portuguese UU (no pike ever was a UU before I am correct).

my reason for thinking the dutch would be a poor standerd game civ-

even though your right, they were a very important civ, the world map would be to crowded in europe, and it just furthers the "eurocentric" veiw of history, if any European civ needs to be added, its the Byzantines, and thats it

well...mabey the poles as well

Byzantines why those guys they are just a left over of a fallen roman empire and they didn't really survive long.

The dutch on the other hand are not really family of some other fallen empire. They had civil wars, made huge inventions had wars against other great power and still survived and will survive for a long time.

and poland is nice but what did they do??? maybe they did something but i don't know.

I think the dutch are in C3C

The Byzantines were a separate entity that existed for over a thousand years, and more than 900 years after the 'fall' of Rome. More importantly, their blending of Greek and Levant art made them quite the cultural center.

I would consider the Byzantines a Civilization far more readily than over half the Civs in the game.

If the Phoenicians are a civ, they'll have a Curragh, which is a ancient sailing ship.

The Byzantines, though an important civilization, would be pretty redundant since we already have the Romans and Greeks.

The Phoenicians are a Civ in the Mesopotamian Conquest only, and the Curragh is available to everybody in that Conquest, not just them. (I don't think there are UUs in that (any?) Conquest) -- although they do start off with the Tech that grants them the right to build Curraghs.

what about austrai-hungery?? the byzantens shold be added too but u right, its allready way to crowded....

austria-hungary wasnt a civilisation in its own right, is was the the official merging of two nations by marrige

also, the solution is easy, just move the ottomans to where they should actually start, in a city on the east coast of the caspian sea
