Has the AI gotten better with their religious game recently? Reason why I am asking is that the two games I have played with this version I have missed out on religion (by 1 turn on both cases too). In the first game I even build the Stone Henge. Before I got religion almost every time I tried to get one and usually among the first ones and getting the Stone Henge guaranteed getting religion. But noe getting religion is pretty damn hard. In the second game I had the pantheon which gives faith from jungles and I was in the middle of jungle and still missed out on religion. And I have to say I "love" it. I play on immortal and getting religion always seemed too easy, but doesn't look that way anymore.
The question is has there been some changes on AI behavior regarding getting religion or have I just been that unlucky?
Need some help figuring out how this is possible.

Japanese lancer inside the city is preventing me from capturing it. How is this possible? How can I prevent/counter it? It seems like an easy way to block a civ from conquering someone.
