It must be hard to be a creator. Every versions comments: this is broken, this doesn't seem to be working as it should. I kind of wish for a Vox Populi FINAL. This mod is amazing but perfection is a dream of mad men like myself.

Translation: Every new release: Maybe I will start a new game with the next version ? :P

If MC's India pack is enabled, are both its trait for India and Vox Populi's trait running? I know Vox Populi's is but I have no idea whether or not the LUA from MC is active as well.

So I tried out the a science victory. Went as Korea on a small, normal speed King game.

Won on Turn 400, with the last 15 turns being pure construction of parts (I had gotten all the tech I needed by then). Now I was sloppy with the parts, I didn't realize you needed the spaceship factory to buy them with the freedom tenant, and one pillaged road I had forgotten about cost me 2 extra turns in transport (damn rivers!). So I believe I could have shaved off at least 6 if not 8 turns at the end.

Germany was my only real contender, and while he was winning diplomatically on the votes he had no where near the number to take Global Dominance (as I was doing pretty darn well in that department). No one got close on cultural victory, so it was an inevitable victory for me.

In terms of the RL change, the extra science meant nothing....maybe a turn shaved at most, and considering the time spent in part building I don't think it would have made any real difference. The GS change though may have, I got a lot of GS just because its Korea, but probably at least 2 more because of the RL....which is probably a little over a tech.

So it helps, and certainly the first time I have tried science in a while. Then again, it was Korea (I figured if Korea couldn't do it than no one can), so next time I will want to try it with a weaker civ and see how they do).

EDIT: An humorous followup. I had taken a city in the mid game to get some much needed iron for the frigates I would need to defend my island. As the game moved on and I moved away from needing the iron, I realized that while the city was a good one (4 internal TRs will do wonders to building up a city quick!), it was still a science detriment (hard to beat a tradition capital with 15% science from theocratic rule and 15% from stupas). So I tried to sell it off.....and I could not sell it! Not one AI wanted my very nice Island city, even my staunches friends. I was floored, but moved on regardless.

Interesting that no AI had won Cultural by then, although it was a small map. It's about where I would like most VCs to be.

Looking forward to a follow-up with a less science-centric civ. (I'm still on 7/30).

Since the opportunity to play a game hasn't opened up (but browsing forums does open!!), I can post questions, right?

So can city-states defend themselves and can able to launch an offence against a major?

And can an AI, which have formed a very big bond with another player (but not a vassal), can vote for other players (ie the human) when choosing a world leader? :D

Thanks for reading :)

After playing even more, yeah the AI really doesn't expand enough most of the time. They should be a bit more brazen and aggressive military-wise than currently, but nowhere near the previous version expansion-wise (10 cities while barely having entered Classical as a Tradition civ was insane).

In my latest game, all of the AIs expanded pretty well, so it definitely seems hit or miss on whether it expands or not.

I'm not saying it's very bad or even bad in the current state, but they should be ever so slightly more expansive and aggressive because too often do I see them being rather meek and small. Sometimes they do all right though.

Minor civs, ie. city-states, can war against another major civ if they are allied to its opponent but they will never initiate conflict.

The AI will vote for whoever they think will help them achieve their goals. That may mean voting for or against you and not themselves, but it isn't that common.
Disclaimer: this is based on general voting throughout the game and not the final vote, as I have not seen that happen, I rarely go for that victory.

I don't know if it is a bug or not, or if I am imagining things:

has anyone else seen strange quirks with the trade "counters"? I am right now (1.8.2) seeing two of my luxs disappear into thin air, supposedly traded away but there is no corresponding trade to account for them... has anyone seen this behavior?

Yes I posted that as a bug on GitHub.. It's under investigation

Can someone answer my question please? If I use the installer here, then add the modpack on the OP into my game. Am I right in thinking that Patch 8/2 would work for multiplayer?

Thank you for answering my question, and for correcting my mistake.

Am I to understand that all that is necessary to install the modpack, is to Download & unpack and Copy the included folder 'MP_MODSPACK' to Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC? Removing the one that is already there?

Or is there another step I am missing? Being that at this time I am using 3/9 Modpack as seen on that thread.

I hope you do not mind the questions, I want to understand the situation fully before I explain it to my friend who is a lot less computer-savy.

That's all there is to it, yep. Make sure you have same version. Keep in mind that an 8-8 modpack will be coming out later today, so I'd wait for that.
