I don't know if I just haven't experimented enough or what, but I can't seem to acquire vassals anymore at any point in the game. What I mean is, that no matter how powerful I am, no matter my score or any other factor will let the AI become my vassal. Every value is consistently "impossible".

I haven't been able to get anyone to capitulate through war in the past few versions either. In my current game in the last build, I have been at war with Mongolia for a few hundred years in industrial era and conquered 3 cities, including their capital and many units without losing a single unit myself. My war score is only 27. At the rate at which my war score increases (only 12 from conquering their capital...), I would have to conquer 75% of their entire nation to get them to capitulate.

At that point it's not even worth it. They would be entirely worthless and a drag as a vassal. It seems like the really cool vassal states feature is just being devalued in that you have to completely decimate all of a country's potential to ever take it as a vassal, at which point it moves from a fun, interesting feature to a useless burden.

I'm currently playing this version (8/2), and I have 4-5 vassals, no problem about that, I also noticed that now they accept to capitulate right after you capture cities, you don't have that 4-5 turn "impossible" cooldown like before, good news !
btw, I tried Incas for the first time in VP, and now I understand why they are always a huge snowballer when they are AI, they just have crazy UA and UB :crazyeye:

Also, special congratz for the very stable version ! I didn't notice any major bug or CTD, it's great to play a stable game ! thanks

When did these events get added? I just got a "mini ice age event" that made me choose between -2 gold or -2 production in all of my cities for 75 turns. Is this something random that applies to only me or do all the AI get this event at the same time? Is there a way I can disable them?

Each event is individual, so that one applied only to you. Disable them on the Custom Advanced Setup Screen.

This isn't correct. Some events are 'global' and fire for all players. This is one of them.

So I've now done a complete reinstall of Civ 5, along with trying to reinstall the mod several times and even redownloading from mega just to make sure there was nothing wonky with my download. I still have the same issue from post #36 and am at a complete loss for why this EUI won't work for me.

I've never had an issue with CPP/Vox Populi or EUI in the past, and I didn't change a thing from the 7-30 version which I played just fine. How big are the EUI changes going from 7-30 to this version...could I get away with using this version of Vox Populi with the previous version's EUI?

What's the new challenge, O Great G :D (Sorry for being impatient but I'm curious for at least a tease of a witty title)

Soon! I ended up going out of town this week so I wasn't able to work on the new challenge.

EUI has been the same for a few versions. Make sure you are deleting CP/CBO lua files.

I found the culprit. Terrain Detail Level in the video settings apparently cannot be set to minimum in order for EUI to work properly.

That's...fascinating. I wonder why. Perhaps changing it refreshed your config ini? Try setting it back to minimum and see if it works after a restart?

What a shame I had not seen your original post before, I could have saved you a few gray hairs. These (or similar) red artifacts sometimes suddenly start appearing out of the blue for some users - the only thing we (= we who talked about it on GitHub and Firaxis support forums) had in common was an NVidia GPU, but the user sample size was too small to say it was the culprit - what GPU do you use? The most baffling part is, that we could play for months without having any of these glitches before, and then they suddenly appeared (for me it was more than half a year ago, for another girl it was about 2 months ago, etc.). What made them go away in our case was reducing (changing?) some in-game graphic settings. Now your case is even funnier, because they appear only in the EUI version (I use the non-EUI one), right? And you made them go away by increasing, not decreasing, the details!

People have talked about the AI may not expand enough in the latest version (after the overexpansion in the last).

The first game I had seemed fine, AI was more cautious but expanded fine.

However, latest game is strange. Ghandi was my neighbor on a very large landmass just him and I. He....decided to go OCC. For the vast majority of the game he was completely limp, didn't get a religion, didn't expand, didn't build many troops. Just, hung out.

In Industrial he suddenly grabbed two spots at the same time, but he is seriously far behind everyone else at this point.

Nope, issues reappear after setting back to minimum. I had lowered a few settings after my last 7-30 game in hopes of achieving better performance from the renaissance onwards...I've definitely run this game at bare minimum settings before, but not in quite some time.

I use a mobile Nvidia gpu (the all-powerful 840m) and have played copious amounts of Civ over the years without this problem. The issue definitely only pops up for me 1) with EUI equipped 2) at minimum Terrain Detail Level. Incredibly curious stuff.

I haven't played in a while, but I just started a game with this version, huge map, difficulty 5, and the AI is barely expanding. I currently have 6 cities, and the most I've seen any AI have is 3, while two other civs only have 1. Obviously this is causing me to beat them without much challenge, just thought its a bit weird they're barely expanding (especially the one city ones, which is the Maya and Aztecs).

I feel bad for saying this as I was one of the people who complained about AI expansion on 7-30 being too fast but I have to agree that they're too passive regarding expansion in this version. I'm really hesitant to expand even though I could easily do so (on deity) but while I have 8 cities the AI's I've met have 3, 4, 4, 5, 6 and 6.

Another Thing: Anyone playing with RtP? For the last couple of games I'ved experienced AI's adapting my religion very early on. Seems as though the moment I found a religion the AI's can adopt it (even thought they're far far away they suddenly get a city or two of my religion) and make it their state religion. Anyone experiencing the same? It makes it hard for me to adopt a state religion as there will usually be so many cities around far away that haven't adopted the state religion yet, i.e. I quickly loose my piety.
