Another Romanian leaderhead!!

No, Dracula doesn't mean son of the Dragon. Dracula is a "Bram-Stoker-ish" name. It didn't exist. Yes, his father was called Vlad Dracul because he was member of the order of the Dragon. BTW, Tepes means..... umm... hard to translate..... the one that uses a "teapa". A "teapa" is a pole (I think this is the english name) he together with many rulers of the time used to kill the enemies, thiefs, criminals or caught spies.
How did you get this : â???? (from Constantin Brâncoveanu)????? or ţ, ş, ă?????
Ioan Inocentiu Micu was not a leader.
Victor Ciorbea also is not a leader (he is still alive, so is not was).
Also, the city list is VERY bad organized. The cities are not in size order! There are very big cities toward the end of the list.

I'm glad you have both Mircea cel Batran and Stefan cel mare are great leaders! My name is Mircea and middle name is Stefan .:):)

I just remarked the mistakes, sorry if I said too much.

Regarding the city list:

Change Bălţi to the end of the list or delete it right away. I've never heard of it, it's at the beggining and the name means swamps.

Also Brasov should be the second or third city.

Predeal: too big for it's position! It should be earlier in the list

Hunedoara: toward the end of the list, but one of the important cities.

Also Blaj should be more to the beggining, it's not big, but has VERY VERY much historic importance.

Also, I don't see any city Campulung or Campulung Muscel.

Cities like Varfurile: common name. Means "the peaks". Maybe there are 50 towns with this name.

There are many things to say, but the list is so long that I can't actually check it completely.

Edit: Just observed, the Modern leader has the Romanian Atheneum behind!! :rotfl:!!!! I see it every day when I go to school!!! It's so strange to have familiar buildings in the leaderhead!

Vlad "Tepes" = Vlad the Impaler.
He used to impale criminals and enemies of the state instead of imprisoning them... cruel but effective IMHO

Mirc: If possible can u make me a city list with the oldest cities first and the new cities last, its ok to have the same city listed twice if it changed its name over time. Like Edo--->Tokyo
I thought Vlad's name was dracula, doesnt Vlad have a dragon name too?
Also I couldnt think of any monuments for modern Romania so I chose that. ^ ^;;

So do you want a list including older cities first and recently found cities last?
In this case, Bucharest shouldn't be the first. Histria is a greek colony, the first organized city in Romania. It didn't survive to our days. The oldest surviving cities are Tomis and Callatis (Constanta and Mangalia). They are also big cities at the moment. I will do it if I understood right what you asked.

TopGun69: You are right, but I simply didn't know the word Impaler.

Also maybe you know Vlad Tepes is written Vlad ţepeş (with capital T with comma, but I can't find it) and read Vlad Tsepesh.

For the Romanian Modern monument: The People's House from Bucharest. Built by the communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu, he buldozzed an entire district of Bucharest to make room for it. Also where it stands there was a hill which was completely "razed"! It's the second largest non-functional (so not including factories, airports, ...) building in the world!!!! After the Pentagon which is the biggest. It has such a large court that it appears little even if you are walking exactly near the fence. It is also a tall building in Bucharest (Bucharest is not a sky-scrapper city!! The tallest buildings have 22 floors). I played at the People's House once. The door that appears small is in fact so huge that 3 people have to be there to open and close it! I'll get some screenies if you want.
Also "The People's House" is a communist name. The actual name is something like "The Parliament House".

Edit: Just saw: Transilvanya a city????!!!!!! !!!!!!! It is a region in Romania! The country is divided in three big regions and many smaller ones. The big ones are Transilvania, Tara Romaneasca (Wallachia) and Moldova.

Also, here is the castle Bran, were Vlad Tepes was supposed to live (in fact the castle has nothing to do with him, but everyone knows This):

Very nice improvement over the old one :king: !!!

... yet, since when is "Transylvania" a City? It is not... its an entire region, a pricipality of old (although it has been "moved" south-eastwards over the centuries)...

also a (minor) problem: During the life of Vlad III "Tepes" Dracula Wallachia was not part of Romania, but part of the Hungarian Kingdom- so aguably Vlad was actualy thus serf to the Hungarian King...

Wallachia? Part of the Hungarian Kingdom??? :rotfl:
People have so strange ideas about this country! Transyilvania was part of Hungary, Wallachia was never part of anything since the retirement of Aurelianus's Roman troops in 271. It was also the only independant country in this area during the existance of the Ottoman empire! Yes, Transylvania was part of Hungary for some time, but let's not forget that in 1600-1601 the first great union between all the Romanian-speaking countries (Transylvania, Wallachia and Moldavia (which is now divided between Romania and Ukraine)) was made by Mihai Viteazul (Michael the Brave).

@ Mirc

Forgive the mix-up between pricipalities. Its just that most people would associate Dracula with Transylvania rather than with Wallachia, including myself ;). Yet, since Vlad Dracula was the voivode of the principality of Wallachia, wouldn't it then be more accurate for him to be the leader of this particular Civ?

I say you should leave Constanta as the second city :king:
Victor Ciorbea GREAT LEADER !!!! .... are you INSANE ...
But where are the Scientific Leaders

Also i added the Palace of the Parliament as a wonder in my mod :D - how patriotic of me :)

Yet, since Vlad Dracula was the voivode
Nice to see some foreigners using the word vojvoda (or voivoda if you don`t like the croatian version) :) It means Duke btw. No, not Duke Nukem nor John Wayne :)

Off topic, but I just have to share this with my fellow gamers, or I will burst, been holding this inside for years! The old game Vampire - The Masquerade: Redemption`s main villain was a vampire dude called Vukodlak, and this means Werewolf in croatian, serbian and possibly other slav languages. And in the Underworld, the world the game, the P&P RPG, and the movies take place in is all about werewolfs fighting vampires. Nice researching there, just because a word sounds "exotic" and eastern european you get - a vampire called Werewolf  I think his title was Voivoda, the post above made me think of all this. There, its out, I can go on with my life :)

Offtopic: hey are you romanian too Stormrage-Axeman ? Or a neighbour ;)

It's just like the cities Oradea and Resita in Disciples 1 - they took the names because they were from a country no one ever heard off ...

Ok ok ok i won't offtopic anymore sorry :p

I`m croatian, so you could say a neighbour :)

I dunno if this is also OT or not, but I think Vlad`s nickname in english would be "the Impaler" cos of those pikes `n stuff. Which brings me back to another ancient game, the Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen, the intro movie has a scene with the anti-vampire crusade, and it shows a bunch of vampires been impaled on pikes by Seraphim vampire hunters. I`m starting to sound like grandpa Simpson over here.. :)
