I forgot to mention that last one about enemy having 1HP left, I already knew that too.

But if the rule is, don't withdraw if you have damaged the enemy, that could explain a lot. They can usually shoot of 2/4 and then they should turn back, but prefer to die trying. Brave little soldiers, but stupid as hell. ( And my Civ is the most advanced ? :) )

I believe that cavalry has 50% chance of withdrawal. But they won't withdraw if they've damaged the enemy afaik (or if the enemy's down to one point)

Actually the retreat probability depends on the unit's experience. Conscript 34%, regular 50%, veteran 58%, elite 66%.

I just got PTW in the mail, but I am in the middle of a game (1.29f). Will I lose the ability to play the current game if I install PTW?

Is there any penalty for signing a MMP, and not sending any troops if your partner gets invaded and it's called into effect?

related to Raijer : is there a penalty for signing MPP's and getting those new allies into war in the same turn ?

Raijer question is a good one, I think there's no penalty because in a recent game I was always 2 or 3 times war with a civ on another continent , my allies on that continent always stayed polite or gracious to me.

I don't think so. What if you're unable to send in troops, for instance?
I've had games where it took the AI ages to come to my 'rescue', so it works the other way around as well.

I might also mention that you can open a Civ3 game into PTW, and play it as PTW. But once you save it, it is now a PTW game, not a Civ3 game. :)
I did that but I noticed one thing that didn't upgrade to PTW standards: I couldn't upgrade my swordsmen to medieval infantry. Other than that it worked fine. I could build outposts and radar towers, for instance.

Raijer: no penalty whatsoever. You have to declare war, but that's all :D let them all kille ach other and build your infrastructure nicely.....

Question: I had an MPP with the Germans. The Japanese had an MPP with me. There was a whole chain of events (I think that the Americans declared war on Japanese, India declared war on the Japanese, and Germany had an MPP with India) - whatever. I was drawn into a war against Germany. Does this kill my reputation? I destroyed them cause I was fulfilling my pact (assisting the Japanese).

I havent read any of this thread(meaning I dunno if this has been asked)
does hoover give benefits of hydro plant to all cities including those without water

yes, AFAIK it does, but you can only build it in a city with a river or fresh water supply

when you build all the cities in the city list, can you get a new new york (futurama) second time round.
also, what if you take out loads of city names from the list in the editor, what happens if you build enough cities that you have youre capitals name repeated a third time? ie: new kyoto, do you get new new kyoto next time round?
new new new york would be funy with america.

All cities on same continent (As Hoover) get hydro plant, regardless. May need to have factory first.
Can anyone confirm that?

Sorry if someone asked this before, but how do you change the difficulty level of the AI on hotseat multiplayer mode. It seems stuck on regent. Thanks in advance.

Actually, they mentioned that in the Firaxis Q&A.
It is a bug...
The program is foobarred (Maybe patch?)...
And, it happens to quite a few people it seems.

ciao for now.

All cities on same continent are getting hydro plants, but it only increases production when you have a factory in this city
