Here are the results of the BOTM 34 game. Impressive score and win dates. Not often you see a cultural victory (Duckweed) beat a conquest victory (babybluepants), although I heard rumors of players who whacked their keyboard when they accidentally reached domination. :badcomp: Close fight between srad and lexad too

Congrats to the winners, and to all who participated. It didn't turn out as difficult as I intended. Loosing my edge probably.

Congrats to all the winners, I am looking forward to trying this one again when I might have a chance at winning. Thanks to Saranac for submitting a score lower then mine, I thought it was another red ambulance for me again.

Bugger I was hoping to have time to finish this one.
I was on track for my first immortal win, so I will finish the game when I have a chance even though I can't submit.

Congratulations to the winners!

I rejoice in my mediocrity

Congrats to the winners!

I rejoice in my mediocrity

There were several losses submitted and some that probably weren't. Great job on winning this game!!

Congrats to the medal and award winners. I've never seen a cultural victory take the gold. Very nice, Duckweed! :goodjob:

Wow, fastest cultural winning the gold medal!!! That is some achievement. Congrats Duckweed. :goodjob:

Just don't tell jesusin.... he'll be wanting to do that next ;)

Thanks, guys. I'm happy with the result of my 2nd culture attempt.

Lexad and Jesusin showed me a better victory date using traditional strategy in BOTM31. However that's my fresh try and there's lots to be improved. I still believe using Sushi could be a better strategy of pursuing culture victory. I would be happy to see Jesusin show me a better date again.

Hopefully more player could try this strategy in the future.:)

Here's where everyone settled:

The Small Print:
The numbers by each player's name indicate the turn settled on (starting turn is 0). Players are colour coded by game class (challenger=red, adventurer=blue). Symbols indicate victory condition, if there's no symbol then the player either retired or was defeated. The yellow border indicates the land that was visible at the start of the game.

Bugger, I forgot to submit. Doesn't matter, I got nailed going for an axe rush.

Congratulations to all and especially to Duckweed with another outstanding result (like the 'gold' space race some month ago)!
Will try culture for score milking next time! Conquest, ähm Domination seems not suitable anymore :D

:nono:, score milking is just a side effect.;) All right, I confess that I'm also for the medal:blush:, but I tried my best for the fastest culture. The earliest possible date could be ~1400AD if I stop the war earlier.

Congrats to the winners! :goodjob:

As always, many thanks to the staff! :goodjob: :goodjob:

Highest scoring retirement ... where's my award?

Actually, a tin watch (a humiliation of the gold watch ...) would make a great award for highest scoring retirement ;)

(Just like we need tin cup for 4th place in SGOTMs)

Not enough time to play this out until Portugal's space win (I did need SOME sleep), but I was second in score at games end. Starting to get consistently competitive with the AI on immortal, so hopefully soon I can start winning some of them.

Congratulations to winners - really outstanding result, Duckweed - and thanx to the staff.

Good game! Some really impressive games by the award winners. :goodjob: I'm glad just to win at all at this level. :whew: Not far from a sheild for my collection, either. :D

Congrats to the winners. Submitted a resignation on this one - was a little too aggressive on my axe rush. After two consecutive losses, maybe I can win on Noble in BOTM35 :p

I would be happy to see Jesusin show me a better date again.

I've got quite a bit too married to compete this month.

Have you tried taking your 500BC save and finishing it with a standard stop-research-at-Liberalism strategy?
