COTM143 Ghandi of India

cotm_143_start.jpg

In the beginning of time, Mahatma Ghandi found himself leader of the Indian tribe in a lush and ancient plain. Between sacred rivers grazed holy Cattle, which had trodden some Roads through the grasslands. There were colourful and tasty Spices in the woods, from which the Indians cooked delicious curries, and Gold in the hills, which they used for decoration. His was a Commercial and Religious people who had invented an Alphabet of their own and since several generations employed Ceremonial Burial of their dead. It was also a plentiful people, docile in its worship of its Demigod leader: Ghandi was able already at this time to command two external Worker units.

When Ghandi was a just small boy, a sage from a far-away land across the rivers and across the mountains had predicted that the Indians would some time be able to tame the wild elephant and employ it for military duty, the War Elephant. This will initiate a Golden Age for my people, Ghandi used to say. The War Elephant was to be similar to what in other parts of the world would be known as a Knight, but it would need neither Horses nor Iron and it would be more resilient.

A lovely start location. I do wonder why that one tile is pre-roaded. Surely the cattle would have trodden roads through their own tiles, or through the "tasty spices." I guess we need something for our two workers to do.

I still need to start the England diplomatic game, so it will be a while before I get to this one. I'm working on a HOF histographic game which is sucking up all my time right now. I'll have to find a good stopping point and pause it first.

What about cow in the north and the bonus grassland? In the south you have to cross the river, so both workers lose one movement getting back. For 5fpt its not necessary to irrigate a second cow (as far as possible), isn't it?
I see, better make a sheet...:yup:

1 more BG and we´ll have a combo factory... rather rare if you are not AGRI.

you mean, the more one needs the warriors from a combo factory?

absolutely. i only wasn´t sure if that is what you meant. ;)

Cultural 100k could be reached very fast in this map. I don't have time for that propably will go for UN

That is what I'm afraid of. Can I get to a victory before the AI reaches 100k? I may also end up with the UN, as that is the easiest victory to sneak in. If there is a nearby 20k spot, I'll probably give that a shot, though. Definitely not 20k in the capital, though.

Hmm, something is strange with this game: an Indian Privateer sank an Austrian Galley and enslaved --- an Austrian Keshik!!!

(Fortunately I had a Galley close by which was able to pick up the Keshik before it drowned in the waves... :D)

Ha! I just happened across a Japanese Keshik out in the middle of the ocean. Now I know how it got there.

Oh crap! Back to the drawing board... Does any modder out there have an idea what happened? What should have been enslaved?

Not that I recall, although honestly I don't read what they say, so I might not have noticed.
