News from Firaxis!!

Apparently, my work on SSS has not been unnoticed , and I've been in contact with Firaxis for some time now.

Firaxis is offering me to buy all I did on SSS, ideas, source code, etc. They plan to abandon the expansion for CIV, and affect all their team on Civ V, that will be based on my ideas.

However, they offer only 200,000 $ for everything. What I dislike is they want to have the right to modify it as they want, and I have nothing to say.

I don't know if I'll accept... I'm not sure what they propose is worth losing my input to the game... Do you think I should ask for more? Can I go as far as 500,000 $?

Well the move happened after a massive firing of the regular firaxis programming team. The lead programmer, who had recently become a born again christian, and kept maintaining that his inspiration is an invisible goat that sits on his lap and dictates him the programming lines, happened to read some pages about SSS, and then the goat spoke the exact order of firing the rest of the team, anf offering $ 200.000 to Steph.

We are working on the battle with Darque, and the unit editor, with a complety new system, that will blow the customization possibilites of other games FAR away.
I don't know cohort and centurion, so I can't tell.
However, a mini game, featuring only the battle part with "hardcoded" units (I mean, a fixed set of units, without a released editor) will be released first to give a feeling of the battles.

Steph, glad to hear you're still working on SSS, and once you release it, I guarantee that I'll convert the Final Fantasy mod over to that game (of course, the way my mod is going, SSS might be released before it gets done).

You have so many more options in SSS that you'll have to redo your mod complety anyway
