News: GOTM 09 - Saves Available

I think the file system sensitivity bug was fixed by the time 1.61 was released.

Sorry to be a bother, but when attempting to download, I get the following error:

Warning: main(../civ4games/gotm09release.shtml): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/gotmciv/public_html/civ4games/index.php on line 68

Warning: main(): Failed opening '../civ4games/gotm09release.shtml' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/gotmciv/public_html/civ4games/index.php on line 68

======
That is what I see when I go to:
http://gotm.civfanatics.net/civ4games/index.php?month=40009

I use Firefox, but IE does exact same thing. Please advise. Thanks!

It looks as if the file got moved somehow. It's back in place now. Apologies.

I'm unable to load this. The game says that my version is modified, even with a clean "My Games" - Folder. Where else could the problem be located?

Try to uninstall, then once uninstalled, delete the folder that the game was installed in ('left over' files in there can cause failures to load). Then reinstall, and patch to version 1.62.

Hmm, that might be a little difficult... is this a new patch I'm unaware of? Or did you just mistake that for 1.61? ;)

You only have to take into account your published performances. Don't forget that Adventurer class can't win awards, and loses 15% of final score.

An adventurer start cannot win the lowest scoring defeat? Of course I expect that to be the only award I can qualify for; being my first GOTM and first time playing above Noble.

I made it further than expected but the end was near, my cities were getting razed and I was way behind in techs. So, I started thinking about my final score for the GOTM rankings.

Is my score higher if I retire and actually still have a score than if I get whiped of the map but at one point had a higher score?

I have localized the problem. I've altered the graphics with CivScale. One should be warned that this counts as cheating :rolleyes:

If CivScale only modifies the graphics files then it should have no effect. If it changes Python or XML files then it will.

The creator of CivScale, Kai Fiebach, told me that some of the size settings of cIV-graphics are in the XML-files, which is the reason why protected saves cannot be opened when the size settings are altered.
