You can visit all the threads if you are not going to advise any specific team. If you affiliate to a single team, and advise or discuss with them, then you should not visit any other team threads.

what is the AI difficulty for this map? I'm interested in signing up as a new team with some friends from another forum (they'd all create accounts here for the game, obviously), but they are mostly prince-monarch level players. I play at a higher level so I can help them of course, but I think we'd be in trouble if the map was Deity level...

Other than 2 or 3 teams, there aren't too many Deity-level teams with most being in the Monarch/Emperor/Immortal range. However, it is quite easy for a team to outperform the best player on said team by a wide margin since turnsets are played in small increments with a lot of discussion and testing between them. I'm sure that your team will have no problem winning the game.

As the others have said, the whole point of a team game is to get a result that's greater than any of the team members could achieve as individuals. That makes it a great learning experience.
