After some consideration, I reckon I can find the time to squeeze in one SG.

So scratch my earlier request to be a lurker-with-possible-upgrade, this is a full-fledged sign-up:
1. Prince
2. Plenty of GOTM experience, but not really in (played 4OTMs 1 & 2).
3. Plenty of SGOTM experience, only though.
4. Any team that'll have me.
5. PC only (my wife's not bought Warlords for her MacBook yet...).

I don't really see the point of an "unallocated lurker" .. isn't that what all the spectators are? So I don't think you'd have made it onto a team list unless you had nominated one specific team to which you have had a previous affiliation.

- No, I'll go with whoever will put up with me.

5. Please state if you wish to play in OS X on a Mac. If so you will have to join a Mac-only team.

I see that this will start on 23 Feb. I will be away on holiday from 23 Feb to 2 March but hopefully this would not be a problem as I would just miss the opening discussions and the first few moves.

As this would be my first time in a SGOTM, I would probably need to be handheld through some of the basics, like what patches and mods I need to activate. I've tried to read all the rule etc, but there is a lot of information to take in and so I probably haven't absorbed it all.

How do I know if I've been put in a team? Is it in this thread or somewhere else?

You'll find out what team you have been placed on in this thread...additionally, you may find yourself invited to join a team, what with so many teams low on team members.

Welcome. This is the only thread relating to this game currently. I've added you to the list of unallocated players in post #127 above.

I think the unallocated players should go on teams already sorted. I am currently playing on the flying vanillas and there are a put together team. We are struggling to get any progress have a high skip rate/very few posting and are gonig very slowly (i.e. last) by 300 yrs but not including the last 2 teams over 550 years.

Sorry to hear that.

It's very much a lottery, and some teams created from unallocated players have been very successful. This time it does look as though we have several under-staffed teams that can absorb single players. In previous games the established teams have been fully staffed, leaving few gaps to fill.
