Next Emperor Masters' Challenge?

Alright, slow down, people. A few things:

Indeed, I will try to combine the trade route strategy with a tech lead and a domination push featuring navy seals.

My last reservation about Agressive AI is our own vulnerability against the AI. I don't build tons of units that sit around costing money just to keep up in the power graph, as you can see from the previous challenges. If there's no need for war or no real enemies to watch out for, I wouldn't build or upgrade units. If we're going to get repeatedly declared on because of that, it would be really annoying (even if they can't win, they will still bring our economy down) and curtail our strategic options. That said, I will give it a try. Will probably need some advice on how to adapt to it.

I'll try generating a few more Ice Age maps and assess them.

Korea will be featured in an Immortal Challenge, probably the first.

Playing as Japan is interesting too, although I wouldn't go for it at the moment.

Look out for the new thread!

I've generated some more Ice Age maps and found that 3 out 4 times wide continents gave me a two-continent situation. The 1 incident was a pangea. It's satisfying enough so I'm going to play with that.

Just one thought on clicking the aggressive AI button - it is very possible that all your rivals on the continent end up with the same religion, different from yours (which happens to me all the time; confucianism spreads to a few rival cities and they convert but it's just a matter of time for those civs to swich to something else).

In such a case you get several civs that hate you and like eachother - so instead of making world politics more diverse they actually make playing the game more boring, as all you do is wage wars against everyone. If it wasn't for the stupid AI, you'd be doomed.

Another thing - have you tried the custom continents option? it might be more interresting to have three landmasses instead of two. At least at the middle of the game they would have different religions...

I hope not. I have to trust the judgement of those who recommended the option on this. If it does happen, well, I won't ever enable it again.

Edit: sorry, didn't notice that this was an extremely old thread... delete post if necessary...

Sorry!
