Next patch anticipation thread

Two hours from now nearly two months ago in December the last patch/DLC was released.

I think we would be seeing some depot and package updating by now if it were going tonight.

Not to mention Scythia (and Japan, although their representation is more modern). Rome bridges the gap between the 'ancient' and 'medieval' civs as you called them.

The middle Ages are more accurately 400+ AD usually.

Back on topic, I'm excited for the patch. Really hoping they do something to vary the early game archer spam tactics and lower production costs for later units and districts.

In terms of the DLC, I'm also favouring the idea of two new civs. They'll need a slightly larger offering in one of the first 4 DLCs if they want to keep pre-purchasers happy.

China and India would like to have a word with you about this... :mischief:

If you really think about it, the only true ancient civ is Sumeria. Cleopatra, Gorgo and Pericles lived in Classical Era. Qin Shi Huang was around about the same age as Greek leaders, while Gandhi came much, much, much later.

I don't think we'll have a patch tomorrow, unfortunately. Probably next week, seeing how build updates are going. I just hope Murphy's Law prove me wrong.

I just saw a download on 2/16, but there's no info on it that I can find.

It was Steam updating a few files, nothing of importance.

A weekend patch would be fantastic.. Especially over the long US holiday weekend. For me it's either gonna be 3 straight days of Unpatched and heavily modded Civ6 time, OR 3 straight days of PATCHED civ time (with hopefully a better AI. 4 days if you count Friday night :))
Don't forget that much of Canada (Ontario included) has the Family Day weekend as well; Family Day in most Canadian provinces coincide with Presidents' Day.

While I can respect the anticipation for a new patch as much an the next guy, you guys are torturing yourselves. :crazyeye:

If I had to guess, I'd say the patch will drop some time next week. It being a holiday weekend, I can't imagine anyone at Firaxis wants to be in the office just in case their new DLC is bugged. "They'll survive a few more days," is exactly what I'd tell my staff as I wished them a happy three-day weekend.

Some quote tags disapppeared when I used "insert quotes", so there's no name in the quotes (as I actually removed some quotes, too).

I hope the next patch will give the possibility to rename leaders and Civs again.
So everyone could play with that country and with that name he want´s to play the game. I always love this feature in the last parts of the game series. Just choose the Civ you want to play and not what the programmers tell you to play!

That isn't just something from the last parts of the game series. In Civ2 you could also give yourself an own name, change the name of your civilization, and you could even change the titles you'd get depending on your government (for example, a Monarchy had a King. You could rename that to Grand Emperor if you wished. And the same for every government. If you wished, you could rename the "President" from Democracy to "Absolute Leader" (the senate would still veto your declarations of war though)).

Don't do that. We're gonna be spam like hell. I wish it would be true though.
