I just like to keep an eye on it out of obsessive curiosity. I report my observations here because people seem to appreciate it.
Oh no, don't get me wrong, Eagle Pursuit, I didn't mean to express negative critic at you. I appreciate much your work in this case.

I'm talking about the rest of us. When I came yesterday for the daily look, I thought: Holla! 7 new pages. Something must have been happened. But then just steam & hype.

There was some unusual activity yesterday, which is why my estimation for today is as high as 10%, but I won't starting ringing the alarm bells unless something solid appears.

It pretty much still is. I would put today's chance at no more that 10%, while next Tuesday I would say 45% increasing linearly to 90% on next Thursday.

I do Eagle Pursuit. Must have send 10 likes this week alone on your replies :)

All i know that i look forward to this anticipated patch since that will mean that i'll finally start a new game after maybe two months.
Looking forward to it, and hopefully it will bring some fixes and tweaks that i want in order to get back to the game. Well known stuff is what i almost demand to be fixed, i don't even understand how something, like minor bug, that's well documented and reported don't get into next patch. At least fix well documented minor/medium stuff, stop embarrassing yourself.
I may sound bitter, but i somehow feel cheated, because i payed good money for deluxe edition, and frankly i was quite happy with the game, and overlooked many annoyances, stayed in good spirit and supportive, but after 2 patches i realized they are pulling my leg and refusing to dedicate manpower to fix reported stuff. That's what pushed me to the dark side, now i demand they produce a good goddamn patch! /rant_over /please_forgive_harsh_tone

Of course not but we all know how friendly and open they are!!

If they talk to anybody, it would likely be a reporter, albeit with an NDA to lock them from spilling the goods before a certain date.

Well in defense of Rei Lanton, the writer of the blog post, it's a blog post aggregating rumors from message boards that he feels have some credibility. I think using the term journalist and journalism wouldn't accurately categorize his job and the standards for his posting. No one should be confusing Mobilenapps.com with 'Journalism,' it's a gaming blog post for content, and that's it.

In any event, that opening paragraph makes me sound a bit like a jerk. I am excited about the patch. I don't have a lot of complaints about the game and love playing with only CQUI, so I am looking forward to new content and changes that will force me to change up my strategy.

Eagle Pursuit, I am always scrolling though for that Teddy aviator to see what you have to say. It's been fun to learn about this process.

at this point i think no news is good news

In the sense of the 2K qa builds, yes. Although, there are still several hours to update it.

If they run the patch and DLC tonight at 9pm EST, I would expect to see them start arranging the depots and packages a few hours ahead of that.

Arranging? At this point its just a button push to unlock the DLC. The content is already there they just tell steam to press the little red button.

The depots have to be unencrypted. The DLC has to be renamed and attached to the Deluxe Edition. The achievements have to be named. The same kind of stuff we saw for a few hours in advance of the Linux version launching.

Love the dedication here.

Really hoping we don't get Portugal. Nothing against them, but the current civ roster is already absurdly Eurocentric. The Aztecs (which were pre-order early access) are the only Pre-columbian/New World civ so far. Africa and Asia also need some love.

Agreed. I don't even like that Poland was added to the game before more historically significant Civs (Persia, Mongolia, etc) or Civs from underrepresented regions (Africa, Southeast Asia, the Americas). I have nothing against Poland/Poles, and I do understand they're a market Firaxes wanted to cater to, but Europe had enough love thrown its way with the Civs included at release; they didn't need another one so soon.

Agree x100. Too many european civs. When we complained about eurocentrism at release, we were reminded that more non-euros are always released in subsequent DLCs and expansions. So let's start making that happen.

For that matter, I don't care about DLCs anymore and would rather they spend more time fixing AI, UI, pacing, broken/boring diplomacy with meaningless friendships/alliances, confusing/boring religion system (where benefits are confusing and terrible) and other base game problems.

I'm going to assume that yesterdays early update was to get it out and get off early for the Firaxis team. Maybe they switched their Monday for today? IDK When I was working we never got days off....

Hard to say. They've been doing daily qa updates for the past 2 weeks and working till 6pm EST the past few nights. Either A) They get the qa build updated in the next hour, B) everyone dropped what they were doing to go home, or C) the patch and DLC are tonight.

I'm going 45/45/10 on those odds at the moment. I will revise them if nothing happens in the next hour.
