Next patch anticipation thread

I found the change that made the patch live back in December (52558253). They updated 2k qa A simultaneously with the Legacy and Public builds. Then the achievements were updated shortly afterwards.
WHATTTTTT? So your saying that qa_a and public were updated at the same time?? Odd. So that mean that the patch could really come at ANYTIME??? Am I understanding you correctly?
The achievements when live after the patch?

The legacy gets updated to the last current build.
 
That would be me. The game plays fantastically on a high-end iMac and I don't seem to have the excessive turn times that others complain about even though I play on huge maps.

Interesting. I use Steam stream when playing on an air. Haven't tried playing it locally yet, does your iMac handle 6 better than 5 ?

Oh look, the mac master race has arrived to make us all feel inferior with our backwards technology :p

If you look at the change number, they removed stuff from the public build, and added it to the legacy build and removed stuff from the 2k qa A and added it to the public. It's like a cut/paste job.
 
Also with the build numbers as close as they are and depending on what exactly they test and when we could be seeing a office multiplayer game going on now. They could have tested everything else and now just the final push to make sure no significant OOS errors or CTD in multiplayer. Which yesterdays stream was flawless.

If D is the release build, then I expect Mac and Linux to follow suit soon. Then at some point D will get copied to Public and boom we have a patch.

Oh, Firaxis. Give us your big D.
 
I really did enjoy watching the scenario the played yesterday, a good addition to the game I think.
I would like to play it also but im not paying $5 for it nor for the other packs. Now when a sale comes yes. I like the total economic approach

Yeah the economic approach I think has a lot of potential for other scenarios. Imagine a scenario where you have a giant randomly generated city, with all the different districts built multiple times, players could have maybe a mafia game where the have to control certain districts, smuggle illegal goods to certain districts without getting caught by other players or the AI police.

Also depends on what they changed. If it was balance issues or light code couldnt they just simple email the plugged in numbers or whatnot and release the build and test immediately? Seems theres a good amount of communication going on between these two this go around.

Oooh, I like it, and with the random events system Firaxis has made for the Tycoon scenario, there's all sorts of things you could do with that idea :goodjob: Make a mod! Or if thats not an option, go befriend a modder and pitch your idea to them :D

That could be how it ends up too. Or the this morning's Mac and Linux QA builds were their release builds too.
 
Also did anyones else achievements get sorted by number on the "new" ones? i also just had an issue loading that page and had to reload it. Ive never had that issue in steam before EVER for any game lol.

I have never made a mod before but that is definitely something I would make. Hopefully the mod tools will be something I can take advantage off.
