Changes after one or more turns - 1570AD

Always keep 4 Ferries near home. Beast, Boreum, Udal, India. Use the LC Ferry (now in Cymru Straits) as the India Ferry.

Check Celebrating cities each turn: RC Elysium Marl.Downs Neuma Civ Reneaux. Try to keep Celebration going, moving serfs to ocean as necessary, or Elvis.

REGIA CIVITAS=12: Next build Harbor, then ... Bach? (A)
Civvium: Silver Van in 1, Celeb, start Sewer! (A)

    Marl Downs: start Sewer
Octavia: serf to Plains, Engr 16/40 in 5, then Temple?
Ebor: Van in 4. Silk or Beads, then Engr (A)

Hipsheim Frozen: IPRB=30 $4, Van in 5, Dye.
Monks Towne: IPRB=30 $2, Dye, then Van.
Legendary: Van, but it cries to start Aquaduct
Routskilde 4Specials: Dip in 3, then Courthouse! (A)
Udal: Guard Musket in 1, then forest to ocean, Van
Lone Bison: Harbor in 3, then Temple?
Could rehome a War Unit here.

    Comments? Objections?

el_kalkylus: "Why not just IPRB or IRB the caravans, each turn, and get alot of money much faster (science too)"

I agree, and we have approved this idea in the past. The Rule of 28 is one example, IPRB=30 $4 in Legendary City, for example. The same idea applies to Gabba Gabba, Bedfont Lakes and others, to IPRB a Caravan to save a turn and use all production efficiently. PRB now applies to many City Improvements. PRB REGIA CIVITAS $164 for Sewer in 2 is one example.

In the Budget Details poll, Antioch $1664 is supported by a slight majority. That appears to invite disaster, and will certainly use so much money as to disrupt other plans for PRB IPRB and city growth. Even more people voted to establish a Dip embassy with Persia. That seems safe and preferable to me.

I understand your point of view, Dear Domestic Advisor (I didn't vote, that's mean for me = "Not buy Antioch").

But isn't the result of an OFFICIAL poll, and that should be play by our Queen ?
Or those polls are just propose as jokes, just for fun and to see what we would like to say and then, the Government Team decides everything as he like ??

(Queen Jayne, Gary and everybody, this is NOT a personnal attack, just a real question about the interest of polls)
And I hope nobody is likely, I didn't know English enought for maybe using a politically correct form... ;-)

You're bringing up an interesting question here Elsaak!
Indeed the government should do what the people want but sometimes the will of the people is a bit confusing. ;) This is a good example of a confusing will:
We had the idea of bribing Antioch so that we would be able to see what other civs are up to (no need to establish embassies). In the poll quite a lot of people are in favour of bribing Antioch (5 out of 9) yet there are also many in favour of establishing embassies (6 out of 9). :hmm:
Another thing about this question: people want to bribe Antioch but also Jorvik and (if I'm correct) Gordium was approved too (can't find that one anymore though....), at the same time people want to buy cheap Russian and Greek units (NONE) and IPRB all kinds of improvements and caravans.
Now, we can't do all that at the same time. So in the end the president decides what will be done now and what will be postponed.
I'd also like everybody to remember that we wanted to go to war at some point in time, Spanish or Persians where we will need quite some money to bribe cities.
Things are getting complicated quite fast. :crazyeye:

Elsaak: I want to bribe Antioch, and I'm pleased the people have given me the oportunity. I plan to bribe Gordium first and see what happens. If war continues and we can afford it, then I'll go for it! My main priority for bribing is the final Viking towns.

I'm going to start shortly. I shall play as many turns as I can so there's plenty to discuss for the next week.

Yes! Play lots of turns and make us proud to be a citizen of NUF!
    :worshp:

What are you going to do? Bribe Jorvik and Gordium first? It would be my choice to do that! They'll probably be cheap. :D

Good, play, and surprise! :) I'm here a bit!
Elsaak, I respected the question of Our Queen and the People and polled Antioch. I neglected to include a pair "Subvert Antioch" and "Do Not subvert Antioch". That was foolish of me because it made the result so ambiguous. I made that mistake, perhaps because I never expected Antioch to get more than 1 or 2 votes. Sorry.

With your vote: "No" above, that makes it 5 and 5. Also, Civ1's comment is right on. And the Queen has the last word, she says she'll do it. So be it. It is simply my right, yours, and everyone else's to continue to post new reasons and analysis.
