Nfl 2006

Now they have Law & Surtain as thier top 2 cornerbacks...if they cant get it done this year, they never will.

You guys beat me to it. I'm am very happy right now. The Chiefs all the way this year!!!!!!!

I would be concerned about Denver, first.

Denver is thinking about making RON DAYNE thier number 1 runningback.

I think Denver oughta be concerned about Denver first too :p

Mark my words...Denver will regret it if they make Dayne thier starting back.

Bell is much better, and I honestly think its just Shanahan's way of motivating him. He thinks he is not strong enough, so he is slipping a few things out like "Oh well, its an open battle in training camp bla blah blah" to make him pump some iron.

Still, the mere thought...

Denver won't be able to stop our offense, Larry Johnson will be running over defenses.

just watch out, herm edwards attacks when cornered. seriously, does anybody else think that guy's a total joke? i mean, a head coach who not only doesn't know how to manage a clock, but can't even remember to check the clock as the game's winding down? then he hires a clock management specialist, and they still can't run a 2 minute drive to save their lives.
chiefs do look pretty loaded though, if the defense steps up they've got a chance in what usually ends up being a hard fought division.

No offense, but the Chiefs have looked good on paper before, and still came up short. I hope you're right, but they always seem to find a way to defeat themselves.

How about Crackhead Bob (AKA, Ricky Williams)? First he fails yet another drug test, and has to play in the CFL (while on suspension from the NFL) --- and now he breaks his arm, so he can't play there, either! :crazyeye:

The NFC Central is weak. Weak, I tell you. The Bears will go 11-5, and win the division, maybe a playoff game, but thats it.
And, oh yeah, good luck, Alexander, since everyone else before you has had an injury, thanks to... Boom!

its the nfc north now.. and an 11-5 record can be good enoug for a first round bye(usually in the nfc) and winning one game in the playoffs witha bye is very close to playing in the super bowl:mischief:

is alexander on cover of madden this year?

Yea, he is. I guess I agree with the choice, but Steve Smith wouldve been another good candidate.

Thats not nice to say...considering those players are NFL players (stupid NCAA laws) and having Bush out will not really help Notre Dame at all :p

Madden Curse

2006 D.Mcnabb--hurt
2005 R.Lewis--down year
2004 M.Vick--hurt
2003 M. Faulk--Bad,bad year
2002 D. Culpepper--hurt
2001 E. George--bad year

if you manage to stay healthy you still have a crappy year.

The Seahawks also have to contend with the curse of being runner-up in the Super Bowl: :(

XXXIX Philadelphia
XXXVIII Carolina
XXXVII Oakland
XXXVI St. Louis
XXXV N.Y. Giants
XXXIV Tennessee
XXXIII Atlanta
XXXII Green Bay

Here are screenprints of a couple of spreadsheets I put together when I started studying NFL history. The first one measures the success of all NFL teams since the first Super Bowl season in 1966-07.

Super Bowl History:

*Indicates the title was won by the franchise under a different team name or playing for a different city.

So you can plainly see that unless you have some kind of tie to Dallas or Texas you absolutely should not root for the Dallas Cowboys. It's like rooting for Goliath to beat David. There's a three-way race now between Dallas, Pittsburgh and San Francisco to be the first team to win SIX Super Bowls. I guess Pittsburgh would be the favorite to claim that honor.

This one tracks all the NFL titles (and I think the AFL titles prior to the merger -- everything on the NFL's official web-site) that have ever been distributed.

All-Time NFL Titles:

*Indicates the title was won by the franchise under a different team name or playing for a different city.

There are four teams that are now defunct that have claimed an NFL title. Roughly speaking 80+ teams have played in the NFL, but most of them faded in the early years of the League.

I've been a Cowboys fan before those last three SB wins. I ain't changing now (not after those miserable 10 years).
