Nicolai Tesla

I might be an older person than many of you, but in my books back at school, his name never came up. Not in any class like Maths, Science, Physics or Chemistry. And I come from Sweden, the land of discoveries and open mind! I feel I have been blindfolded for some reason, not sure how this worked out in different countries? Can you please add your country and say if you read about him in school or not! Illuminati, well, I really hope they didn't start in Sweden, lol. :)

Netherlands
At secondary school the unit Tesla for magnetic fields
At chemistry study the same, but nothing more, even not IIRC at a science philosophy course based on Thomas Kuhn his book on Scientific Revolutions (at that time, the 70ies, a hype)

I've learned about Tesla (and it's Nikola, not Nicolai) as a child, but that may be because my parents are from Yugoslavia, my cousins talked about him and his face was and still is on money.

Tesla invented fake news
No.... Edison did

With electricity they were Alternating Currents

With the sound of music the credit goes to Edison :)

Reminds me of the guy that named a car-company after him. Blowhards with penchant for showmanship. Though without the twitter.

I think the original the original Tesla was a bit better than your car salesman.

This guy comes up to your girl in the club and says he can wirelessly transfer electric current to her. Wyd?

Step back and let your "girl" make her own decisions because she is a grown woman and can think for herself? ;)

I was gonna say "you give him a big hi-five and go 'yeah, we respect women'"

His inner current is not relevant in this case, he is what he is!

Ok, Nikola! Good Sarmatian. you just won a free drink of water of your sink!!!!! Behold the dude!

Thank you. :)

I'm 40. Before the internet, Tesla was not given as much due as he is today. I "discovered" him in the mid 90s.. thanks to the internet. That was my inspiration to major in engineering, at the time electrical engineering. Later I realized that electricity and magnetism are so math based and difficult to visualize (for me)... sorry for the digression.

Edison did have better PR, and had better business sense and "soft skills". The hardworking and at times brilliant techie engineer types usually do not get a lot of credit, and many of them are probably happier that way I think. Even on a small/local scale it's the managers and leaders of teams that tend to get the credit and articles in trade publications and whatnot.
