For those of you who know me, you'll probably want to skip over this spiel. For those who find me boring, you'll want to do the same. In spoilers for convenience.

Spoiler :
First up, I'm not really a guru. But I don't really specialise in one area, and I like to think I'm decent at most, so anyway.

Second of all, I don't know if anyone's tried to set up a shop effort before here, so this might be something new for the community! Or it might be against the rules. Time will tell.

Thirdly, I know this seems a little bit stupid given that Civ V is coming out this year, but I figured that there will still be plenty of modding going on for IV, and they'll probably appreciate any help they can get when people start making the switch.

Fourthly, I'm not currently on my normal PC. It's getting a little old (over 4 years now, and it wasn't top-end when we got it) and it's starting to freeze up regularly. So, there are no examples of work yet. But, in the next week, I'll be moving buttons and flags across and bundling them into packs. The first pack will be The Modern World and will feature buttons from World 2009 mod and a few from other things.

So, what am I actually offering here? Well, I've been working for the BUG team on-and-off for around a year and a half, providing all the new tidbits to make things easier. Those crossed swords on the scoreboard when you're at war? The peace symbol when you're not? Yes! That was me! Please, there's no need to applaud, but if there's something similar that you need for your GameFont, make a request.

The other thing I'm becoming proficient at is making (or editing) flags and civilization buttons. Using asio's brilliant flag button maker thingy, I can whip up a correctly proportioned flag and button in almost no time. Obviously source images make my life a lot easier, so if you have any, you're more likely to get your request filled.

That's about all for now. If you have a request, post away! I'll put up examples ASAP.

In all honesty, Python actually scares me. I come out in a cold sweat even thinking about messing with it. I tend to leave that to the far more experienced members of the BUG team like EF and Ruff. I stick to the art.

Well I wasn't suggesting a change in the set-up, but merely an artistic enhancement of it.

Well, I saw something Mattastic made (it was only a screenshot though) but never posted and I really liked it, but I can't seem to get a response from him let alone find the thread it was in. :(

But I just wanted the UI to look cool because all of the other graphics in my mod look really nice, and I thought it would be a nice touch/polish to improve upon the UI a little bit. If I can't find what Mattastic posted, or am unable to get a response from him again, I could send you the next playtest I am putting out and maybe you could take a look at it and see if you think anything should/could be done. If you want to check out some of the stuff we're working on there is a link to the sub-forum in my signature.

Hi NikNaks,

I had sent you 3 flag buttons a few months ago I was hoping that you could whip up for me, but I think you were busy at the time. If you are taking requests again, and you feel like it, would you be able to take a second look at those for me? I can resend if necessary, just let me know. And, BTW, THANKS!

Cheers,

Hi NikNak,

I am looking to change the appearance of my mod and have been looking around for someone who has made some changes to the basic GUI or has ideas for some new directions.

What I am looking for is more controls on the front lower template. The little mini-map on the right is very handy, as well as the upper right and left corners. Please refer to my image ingame: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=373183

What is horribly lacking is the bar at the bottom often serves no practical purpose. Addtional information could be placed there that would allow the player to know more about the proceedings of his government.

I could theoretically see an abbreviated Civics screen there, or perhaps a relationship monitor (keeping tabs on the other players and AIs reaction to you). I think a build queue might be interesting as well.

All sorts of information could be provided there, rather than just a blank bar.

What are your thoughts?
